At a Macro Workshop at Ruapehu I was hoping to photograph a North Island Whio and Tomtit. The one free day was very wet so didn't mange it but did get some wing action from a Manuka beetle.
The lake at the top of Mount Ruehepu. This is a springtime view with the snow on the top. The lake is seasonal in the crater at the top. Note the massive waterfall just down and to the right of the photo center; it actually goes under the snow and re-emerges down the face of volcano.
Milford Sound (Māori: Piopiotahi) is a fiord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park. It is acclaimed as New Zealand's most famous tourist destination and Rudyard Kipling called it the eighth Wonder of the World.
The infamous New Zealand Weka - scourge of campers across the islands. They will grab and run off with anything left unattended at a campsite that they can carry, and not just food. I found myself chasing a Weka around my campsite who had apparently decided that anything in a plastic bag on a picnic table must be edible. They had run off with my e-book reader!

A few days after this photo was taken, my life was also almost taken. From a hospital bed I reflected deeply on the important things in life and how we can so easily take certain moments & things in life for granted. I determined to make each moment count! ...His grace is sufficient!
