The common name hepatic means "liver-coloured", namely, brownish-red. The female is yellow, and the male is red. It looks for food in the foliage of trees, moving slowly and methodically; different individuals use different strategies. [Wikipedia}

Happy to finally add this beautiful Warbler to my photo collection!
Seen in Victoria Park, in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Sturnella superciliaris is an icterid endemic to the grasslands of the Southern Cone, occurring in Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and southern Brazil. Males are characterized by a bright red breast and a pronounced white supercilium, while females exhibit cryptic, streaked plumage. The species inhabits open pasturelands, where it forages primarily for insects and seeds and maintains territories through conspicuous perching and vocal displays. Although currently classified as Least Concern, its persistence is closely tied to the conservation of native grassland ecosystems.

ESTA OBRA LA DEDICO A MI AMIGO FERCREA UN ARTISTA DONDE EN MUCHOS DE SUS TRABAJOS SE ENCUENTRAN MARAVILLOSA ESFERAS----
This bird tested our patience on a sunny morning. He spent most of his time on the side of the path facing into the sun.
After I almost gave up he flew to the other side of the path. Then it took time for him to pop up to a blade of marsh grass that did not have other reeds in front of him.
He was busy singing for a girlfriend the whole day.
The Common Yellowthroat was one of the first bird species to be catalogued from the New World, when a specimen from Maryland was described by Linnaeus in 1766.
This photo was taken at Frank Lake which is south of Calgary, Alberta, Canada

The Casa de Colón (Columbus House) is an architectural complex located in the center of the old Vegueta neighborhood in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is believed that the renowned navigator stayed there while fixing one of his caravels during his first voyage to the New World in 1492. The project incorporates a number of the houses which currently take up the entire block and includes a library, a museum, and a dedicated study center inside.
The Columbus House was established to study, research and disseminate the history of the Canary Islands and their relationship with the Americas. The museum is divided into five thematic areas. The first contains various information panels showing the settlement of the New World, and the cultures and peoples of Pre-Columbian America. The section entitled "Columbus and his Voyages" recreates the explorer's expeditions, while an exhibit in another room examines Columbus’ time in the Canary Islands. The Columbus House also has a collection of paintings from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

The Trinidad piping guan (Pipile pipile) locally known as the pawi, is a bird in the chachalaca, guan and curassow family Cracidae, endemic to the island of Trinidad. It is a large bird, somewhat resembling a turkey in appearance, and research has shown that its nearest living relative is the blue-throated piping guan from South America. It is a mainly arboreal species feeding mostly on fruit, but also on flowers and leaves. At one time abundant, it has declined in numbers and been extirpated from much of its natural range and the International Union for Conservation of Nature has rated the bird as "critically endangered". Pineapple Fountain is located in a park near the waterfront of Charleston, South Carolina.
Once seen only in western mansions and palaces of the incredibly wealthy and globally connected elite, the exotic and expensive pineapple came to the port of Charleston by way of South America. When the British fought the Spanish, the pineapple was especially hard to come by for British subjects, including American colonialists.
The exotic pineapple eventually became the symbol of hospitality. Hotel owners will also no doubt recognize the pineapple as a symbol of hospitality management.
These migrating birds do not travel as far as some other species, calling much of the eastern United States home during the winter months. Depending on climate, they can be found as far north as southern Ontario and as far south as Texas
