The first wow factor is when you first see the village from a distance of a few miles. Located on the hill with a stunning ancient castle on the top, as if it were a giant crown, the picturesque village piques your appetite for the adventure ahead.
The combination of medieval stone walls, white houses, and terracotta-colored roofs looked stunning and dramatic on a cloudy day. It instantly got me back in time.
Sevilla (Seville) is gorgeous. A wonderful combination of very old and ultra modern. In this instance the foreground view is of the largest wooden structure in the world, The Metrosol Parasol, a fascinating curved structure that looks a bit like mushrooms when viewed from far.
The Shock of the New
This is the continuing series of images entitled ‘Shock of the New’. I’m showing how Modern Architecture has embedded itself with the more Traditional Architectural styles. Some successful, some in my view not so. But we’re all different. You may like them. What It does tell you however, is that progress cannot be stopped. There are forces greater than you out there.

Taken during a trip to London, as the train passed by the old Battersea Power Station.
Battersea Power Station, which was fully decommissioned in 1983, and given Grade II building status, has been redeveloped as part of a seven-phased, £8bn ($13.36bn)-worth redevelopment project.
The overall site covers an area of 42 acres (17ha), of which 18 acres (7.28ha) is public space and six acres has been used to create a river side park. The redevelopment involed the construction of 3,444 new residential homes, 517 affordable homes, restoration of the power station itself, construction of a new tube station, 2.5 million square feet of office and retail space, a library, a medical centre, and childcare facilities.

I think this photo is the one which captures most elements of our stay in China. Thank you for taking an interest as I described our trip. The family are now settling down to life in England, stayed with us for six months before moving to their own place. We miss the children but glad to have more peace and quiet!
Adding one more image of what it is like staying at the City Palace in Udaipur. The wall murals around every corner were fascinating and new world comforts were a joy too.

This is another series of my images, this time that show how Modern Architecture has inbedded itself with the more Traditional styles. Some successful, some not to my estimation. But we’re all different in our tastes, you may even like them yourselves.

Brighton i360 and Ticket Office
I stood and waited for the i360 to descend so that I could capture this image with the ticket office.
I really liked the very modern i360 pod towering over the old architecture of the ticket office.
The ticket office is a much-loved piece of Brighton’s historic West Pier, a pair of toll booths designed by Eugenius Birch which originally stood at the entrance to the pier were restored by the Brighton i360 team.
One of the booths later became the well-known Rock Shop, which closed in 2009 after becoming structurally unsound. It was subsequently placed in storage after being carefully dismantled in 2012 with a plan for it to be restored and returned to the site as part of the i360 development.

Known as Boston's "Towne House", the Old State House dates back to 1713.
