We ended up in Breskens, Holland, in the province of Zeeland.
It was steadily raining, the sky was milky, the light was flat, everything looked sad and deserted...
No weather for photography!!!
I braved it, I'd seen a shot... these empty nets hung up in the mast of a fishing boat.
It often pays to look up... and down.
I like the 'graphic' quality.
Have a great w-e, don't forget to look UP, lol.
Take care, be safe!
thank you for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*)

I captured this image in Alaska some years back. I thought it was deserving of a post! :-)
I am sorry I have been absent for awhile. I am getting ready to go on a Viking river cruise from Paris to the Swiss Alps.
Most of my attention has been on packing.
I will be away for awhile, so you all take care, and I will catch up with you when I get back.
If you make it to Monterey, and go out on the real Fisherman's Wharf (as opposed to the touristy one nearby), you'll see real fishermen, like Chuck, doing real fisherman things. Like repairing his nets before heading out to catch another load.
After the Fishermen called it a day their nets lie stacked at the pier. They look so beautiful and nothing shows its deadly purpose

The Chinese fishing nets (Cheena vala) of Fort Kochi (Fort Cochin) in the City of Kochi (Cochin), in the Indian State of Kerala, are fixed land installations for an unusual form of fishing β shore operated lift nets. Huge mechanical contrivances hold out horizontal nets of 20 m or more across. Each structure is at least 10 m high and comprises a cantilever with an outstretched net suspended over the sea and large stones suspended from ropes as counterweights at the other end. Each installation is operated by a team of up to six fishermen. (Source: Wikipedia)
Hello my Dear Friends, I am back from a short trip to the south of India. Thanks to my friend Raju for arranging all the photographic outings!

Another shot from my visit to Esthwaite Water. This island of trees had some interesting elements to capture including some nets in the water.
CC Welcome and please feel free to share if you like.

Fishing nets nearby the Monument of the Afsluitdijk, 2016.
These are fishing nets of the Wieringer kotter WR 43. At many locations along site the Afsluitdijk this professional fishing boat has put his nets into the water of the IJsselmeer.
The sunlight in the garden
Hardens and grows cold,
We cannot cage the minute
Within its nets of gold.

This fisherman is preparing his mountain of nets in readiness for the lifting of the fishing ban on the 1st of September. The ban only applies to Trawler vessels using nets, not to other anglers.
This ban supposedly helps replenish the fish stock around the seas of Istanbul!
I really hope itβs true! But just look at the size of this one vessel's nets. Imagine the other thousands!
