On a hot and muggy afternoon, CP 135 rips westbound on the Windsor Sub with a couple of EMD SD70 variants for power, tearing through the seemingly-endless farm fields of southwestern Ontario. Cameron and I shot them here at the east end of the Glencoe siding doing every bit of trackspeed through the classic searchlights complete with the pointed finials atop.
As it may be evident from the photo, skies were playing games with us for the entire hour we were waiting, including right up until the final couple seconds before the train showed up a small cloud was covering the foreground and ended up clearing just enough for the head end of the train to catch some sun rays as they hit the signals. It makes the scene a little awkward for sure, but the margin between a usable shot and a complete dud was nail-bitingly close so to come out with a frame here feels pretty satifying.

Prior to the modern nail clipper, people used to utilize small knives to trim or pare their nails. Descriptions of nail trimming in literature date as far back as the 8th century BC. The first United States patent for an improvement in a finger-nail clipper was filed in 1875 by Valentine Fogerty and in the United Kingdom, Hungarian inventor David Gestetner (Wikipedia :-D)
However, you still have your teeth. For me it is a terrible habit but for others it is delicious!... I love diversity, it is fun and awesome!!!

yep nailed it the shot I wanted ,as you can probably appreciate getting the focus on the eye of a fast moving black bird against a bright background is never going to be easy .everything fell into place here

Günther Uecker (geboren am 13. März 1930 in Wendorf; gestorben am 10. Juni 2025 in Düsseldorf) war ein deutscher Maler und Objektkünstler. Bekannt wurde er vor allem mit seinen reliefartigen Nagelbildern. Ein Teil seiner künstlerischen Objekte kann der kinetischen Kunst zugeordnet werden. Günther Uecker (born March 13, 1930 in Wendorf; died June 10, 2025 in Düsseldorf) was a German painter and object artist. He became known primarily for his relief-like nail paintings. Some of his artistic objects can be classified as kinetic art. In later years, he also turned to glass art and designed church windows.

A bottle of clear nail polish with brush.
I had so many ideas I didn't know where to start. But as soon as I found this old bottle of nail polish I was hooked! It was difficult to get the lighting right, to give the glow behind the bottle without the light bleaching out the glass. This shot is basically SOOC, just a signature added.
I didn't include an establishing shot against a credit card this time ... I figure nail polish bottles are much the same size. This one is about 5 cm, with the brush top extending it to the full 8 cm.
