Where Halloween Comes from…

Halloween is based on a Holiday, called Samhaid, that the CELTS celebrated thounsands of years ago. The Celts believed the line between the living and dead was erase on this day. It was a day when ghosts moved hmong the living. The Celts wore costumes and placed Tricks to scare away the ghosts.

Halloween traditions come from a Christian Holiday called all Souls’ Day, too. On all Souls’ Day, people gave beggars cakes called soul cakes. The beggars promised to pray for the familias of people who gave them cakes. This is how trick-or-treating started.

What is Halloween?...

Halloween is a time for scary fun!. Tihis Holiday comes every year on October 31. People celebrate Halloween by dressing up in customes.

They decorate their houses with scary things, like ghosts, Black cats, and jack-o’-lanterns. People also tell scary storiess and watch scary movies on Halloween.

Halloween is especially fun if you are a Kid. This is because Kids go trick-o-treating on Halloween. They wear customes, visit their neighbors, and say: TRICK OR TREAT. The neighbors give them a treat, such as candy, fruit or Money. Have you ever gone trick-or treating?

The Badshahi Mosque or (Urdu: بادشاہی مسجد‎) or in Persian Padshahi Masjed means the 'Imperial Mosque' in Lahore, commissioned by the sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1671 and completed in 1673, is the second largest mosque in Pakistan and South Asia and the fifth largest mosque in the world. Epitomising the beauty, passion and grandeur of the Mughal era, it is Lahore's most famous landmark and a major tourist attraction.

The Diwan-i-Khas is square in plan with five bays of lobed arches on three sides. The north facade includes delicate jali screens that overlook the northern ramparts of the fort. A shallow fountain sits at the center of the pavilion.

"New York, New York" is the theme song from the Martin Scorsese film New York, New York (1977), composed by John Kander, with lyrics by Fred Ebb.

In 1979, it was recorded by Frank Sinatra, for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980), and has since become closely associated with him. He occasionally performed it live with Minnelli as a duet. Sinatra recorded it a second time in duet with Tony Bennett for his 1993 album Duets.

Start spreading the news, Im leaving today

I want to be a part of it - new york, new york

These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray

Right through the very heart of it - new york, new york

I wanna wake up in a city, that doesnt sleep

And find Im king of the hill - top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away

Ill make a brand new start of it - in old new york

If I can make it there, Ill make it anywhere

Its up to you - new york, new york

New york, new york

I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps

And find Im a number one top of the list, king of the hill

A number one

These little town blues, are melting away

Im gonna make a brand new start of it - in old new york

And if I can make it there, Im gonna make it anywhere

It up to you - new york new york

1st September, 2014

Recording today's weather in Lahore with the city line.

A shot of front entrance of Imperial Mosque, Lahore.

This 2.5 acre area of Central Park is dedicated to the memory of John Lennon and named after his famous song Strawberry Fields Forever in 1981 by New York City law under Mayor Ed Koch.

The mosaic is a replica of a famous mosaic in Pompeii and was a gift from Naples, Italy. The only change from the original is the inclusion of "Imagine" in the center of the mosaic.

Once a fairly nondescript area stretching from 71st to 74th streets, it was transformed into its present, superbly landscaped condition through a gift from Yoko Ono. She presented Strawberry Fields to the park as a memorial to her husband, the late John Lennon, after his murder in front of the Dakota apartment house on Central Park West in 1980. It was named not only for the Beatles’ well-known song, “Strawberry Fields Forever,” but also for an orphanage in Liverpool, England here as a child Lennon played with friends who lived there.

Are there any actual strawberries in Strawberry Fields? well, it seems that plantings of strawberry bushes have not been successful due to a scarcity of sun in this quarter of the park. Only a few scattered bushes are to be found among its rich variety of shrubs. An official plaque calls the site a “Garden of Peace.”

MEDELLIN...

(English pronunciation IPA: [mɛdəˈjiːn] or [mɛdəˈliːn], Spanish: [með̞eˈʝin] or [með̞eˈʎin]) is the second largest, and most progressive city in Colombia. International travelers, and others say: "Medellin is one of the most beautiful cities in South America". The home of orchids, parks and tropical birds, Medellin lies cradled in the Aburra Valley, bisected by the Medellin River which runs North and South.

Nightlife, called "Rumba", takes place in many locations, beginning in earnest on Thursday night, and running "hot and heavy" through Saturday night. With an International (MDE), and an Inter Colombia (EOH), in-town airport, Tourist Agencies report that Medellin serves as a popular central air hub for tourists. Buses, Taxis or the world class METRO rail are all safe, low cost, modes of convenient transportation. You'll find hundreds of good lodging, and restaurant options to choose from. At 1,600 meters, the annual temperature is perfect. No need for A/C.

The Lahore Fort, locally referred to as Shahi Qila (Punjabi, Urdu: شاہی قلعہ‎) is citadel of the city of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located in the northwestern corner of the Walled City of Lahore in Iqbal Park which is one of the largest urban parks in Pakistan. The trapezoidal composition is spread over 20 hectares.

The Badshahi Mosque (بادشاھی مسجد) or "Emperor's Mosque" was built in 1673 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in Lahore, Pakistan. It is one of the city's best known landmarks and a major tourist attraction epitomizing the beauty and grandeur of the Mughal era.

Capable of accommodating over 55,000 worshipers, Badshahi is the second largest mosque in Pakistan, after the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. The design of the Badshahi Masjid is closely related to the Jama Masjid in Delhi, India, which was built in 1648 by Aurangzeb's father, Emperor Shah Jahan.

The Tomb of Asif Khan is a mausoleum located in Shahdara Bagh in Lahore, Punjab. It was constructed for the Mughal statesman Abul-Hasan ibn Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who was titled Asif Khan.

Asif Khan was the brother of Empress Nur Jahan, and father of Arjumand Bano Begum, who became the consort of Shah Jahan under the name Mumtaz Mahal.

In 1636, he was elevated as Khan-e-Khana and commander-in-chief and a year later became the governor of Lahore. Asif Khan died on 12 June 1641 in a battle against the forces of rebel Raja Jagat Singh. His tomb was commissioned to be built in the Shahdara tomb complex in Lahore by Shah Jahan. It was built to the west of the tomb of Jahangir, facing it. It took four years and was completed in 1645 at a cost of 0.3 million rupees.

Some historians believe that Maharajah Ranjit Singh plundered his tomb for its marble and sandstone to be used in his building projects.

Today the tomb and the walls as well as the main gate are dilapidated. The tomb, along with the adjacent Akbari Sarai and the Tomb of Jahangir, is on the tentative list as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
