Taken with my iPhone in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, England. The green of summer is beautiful but the golden browns of autumn are magical - enjoy the forest and park at the start of #MyAutumn
7 months after fledging their nest a couple of juvenile kingfishers are still holding onto their parents territory even though most of their fishing spots are now flooded (they prefer shallow, slow moving water). But they're finding enough food to survive, so If they can last a few more months on the Don they could be challenging their parents for the rights to breed on this stretch River in the spring.

Like many people in the UK I've been lucky enough to have these birds come into my garden to feed during the recent cold spell. They've also managed to eat their way through about 12 bags of pears in 5 days. Thankfully the pears were on offer at my local supermarket, otherwise they would have cost me a small fortune :)
what lurks under the rainbow?
I have had a long day but its not going to stop me making my first post to the Aractober group for 2014!
I will be away at the end of October and so will miss the climax of Aractober (as i did last 2 years too) but i am determined to post a pic a day until I am unable to do so!
I spent 30 minutes watching these birds outside a cafe in the Peak District and managed to get a few pictures as they were feeding.
I thought I'd never find you

Up above the trees and the houses, this morning in Somerset.
Taken 10 mins after my previous shot and looking the other way. The mist now begining to clear, revealling the village below.

Has quietly grown into a memory

Another lovely day spent seal watching yesterday with my younger brother! Amazing how time flies when you are enjoying yourself :-)
Taken from the same shoot as the previous kingfisher picture but with a slightly different pose.
Picture taken on the River Don, Sheffield, UK
Across the lake at Stourhead. I loved how the sun was catching the cascade of yellowy green branches on this majestic old tree on the island. A very Autumnal scene

It's the Autumn Equinox, so here's a Cotton candy dawn in Somerset last weekend as it's not very Autumnal this morning, and I couldn't get out. Have a great weekend you lovely lot :)

Thank you to fellow Flickr user INNES for giving me the Postcode for my sat-nav!! Much appreciated!! I hadn't realised but I have been there before, but had parked by the lake and walked a little way up, as I had been walking most of the day, I didn't go up very far. Much easier from the top parking area!! So many stunning views I didn't know which way to turn!! :-)
Picture Taken at Chatsworth Park, Derbyshire.
The weather wasn't too kind to me on this day but the deer were out in good numbers.
A magical morning here in Somerset today.
Initially I thought it was misty, delighted by this I dragged the kids out of bed in the hope they'd be up for a sunrise session....typically it began to turn to thick, dense, fog, but undeterred, we continued with our mission and headed for higher ground, where eventually, the local landscape began to emerge from the fog in sea like waves.
It was quite a thing to behold so we stood and watched in awe at the beauty of nature, especially the children who were comepletly blown away by it. Like a magical cloudland.
My eldest (who took his own camera) said to me "mummy I can see why you're mad about mist now" lol which almost brought a tear to my eye.
Hopefully I've promoted a love of the landscape and maybe even the next generation of mist mad togs :)
Memories made eitherway.
