Aki working on the Anti-Atrophy experiment in the JEM. As our muscles waste away in space (resembling the progress of many muscular diseases on Earth) but thankfully we return to normal once we are back on firm ground, this process is very interesting for researchers. If they can understand why first of all we lose our muscle, and then how we get it back it could help people who have muscular problems. This experiment is looking at the process on a cellular level and is specifically testing atrophy inhibitors to stop muscles wasting away, called C14Cblin (it seems biologists also like their acronyms), but also a muscle accelerator to grow muscles back, called Celastrol. Here space is used as a quick way to check processes that would require more time on Earth!

Volley ballers braving the harsh El Nino Winter!

Taken on the way to Anaheim where we saw Trans Siberian Orchestra. I have no photos for the next two days because I got hit by a vicious cold that night. Today is the first day I can somewhat function enough to turn on the computer and process photos.

Last batch of photos of this event.

Photoshoot 2022

What has become an annual event that just keeps on keeping on, is the Auto fest Spring car Nats held in Shepparton. Here is a link to the event organisers page, autofest.com.au/.

The event has been going for over 30 years, and for many there is no better way to spend the weekend than with like-minded people, as the entrants burn rubber with an excess of horsepower, that is thankfully quite obscene : )

There was and is everything from the go to woe, handling events, drifting, and of cause burn outs! Burnouts bouncing of the rev limiting, literally hitting the red line burnouts. How much rubber do they burn, enough so I can smell it from my house nearly a mile away : ) PS the smoke signals might be cultural appropriation, so some one should bring along a Pontiac and make it officially ok : P

Jack Danniels www.jackdaniels.com/en-au has a bar, so Tennessee is represented, although in the main part, not much American iron turns up at the event in comparison to the Australian contingent and Japanese cars.

V8s are the flavor, although you might be surprised like I was this year to see a Honda S2000 turn up, a pleasant inclusion, with one of the all-time great 4 bangers in it.

Black snot is a thing, that is if you can handle the close quarters action! You might like to take some year plugs, even then for about mile you will still be able to hear the cars at it.

As a car enthusiast I enjoy the day, friendly people getting their thing on, and having a great time.

PS. Make sure you drink lots of water, and keep hydrated!

Space Muscle

This SHIP is the alien misconception of a muscle car, scaled up to a space going vessel.

There is a grille with headlights, a bonnet with rallye stripe, a cockpit with a magic tree, a V6 motor and one of them roundish thingies, I think they're called wheel.

For the thrust I've added the rocket engine that's been around since my first SHIP in 2019, never had the heart (or need for those parts) to dismantle it.

Toy Project Day 2972

This was more posed than some of David's other pictures. There are so many good things about the picture that I had to post it. I think I like his unscripted moments better, though. What do you think?
