This is my favourite knife. I got it for christmas 12 years ago when I was 8 years old.
It has been lost and found several times during all those years! :)
I carry this tool every day. It is truly the king of Multi tools in my book, with its Compound Leverage, it amplifies your griping and cutting power by double. It cuts through heavy gauge wire like butter. The power assist blades are quick to open, and you don’t need to open the tool to access them. It is tough and durable thanks to its stainless steel construction and black oxide finish.
This tool has saved the day many times, it has made me money as well. What more is there to love in a multitool. Oh yeah what about killer customer service and a Life time warranty!
Because when you're in The Shit, you want a place to keep your machete and your multitool without having your tits painfully flattened by some man-vest.

I love cycling in mud.
When I head out this Friday evening, I'll have my low budget bases covered... ;)

Gathering the required tools. We also had to purchase a wrench set [with 2 wrenches of a specific size being needed]. Managed to get a cheap one with lifetime guarantee for $20. Had to purchase a hole saw (drill bit that makes 2 inch holes), as well as some extra screws.

BACKSTORY: Too much raccoon noise in the attic! Time to install a built-in ladder, so that we can get up into the attic in 60 seconds to scare away any animals before they decide to move in again. Project cost exceeded $350 and involved 5+ Home Depot trips.

Victorinox makes Alox knives using a process called **deep drawing**. Deep drawing is a metal forming process that uses a punch and die to create a three-dimensional shape from a flat sheet of metal.
The first step in making an Alox knife is to cut a sheet of aluminum to the desired size. The sheet is then placed in a deep drawing die, which has the shape of the knife's handle. The punch is then pressed into the sheet, forcing it to conform to the shape of the die.
Once the handle is formed, the blade is inserted into the handle. The blade is held in place by a rivet, which is pressed into the handle. The rivet is then peened, which is a process of hammering it to expand it and lock it in place.
The final step is to anodize the knife. Anodizing is a process that creates a protective layer on the surface of the metal. This layer helps to protect the knife from corrosion and wear.
Here are the steps in more detail:
1. **Cutting the sheet metal:** The first step is to cut a sheet of aluminum to the desired size. The sheet is typically 0.8mm thick.
2. **Deep drawing the handle:** The next step is to deep draw the handle. This is done by placing the sheet metal in a deep drawing die and then pressing it into the shape of the die with a punch.
3. **Inserting the blade:** Once the handle is formed, the blade is inserted into the handle. The blade is held in place by a rivet, which is pressed into the handle.
4. **Peening the rivet:** The rivet is then peened, which is a process of hammering it to expand it and lock it in place.
5. **Anodizing the knife:** The final step is to anodize the knife. Anodizing is a process that creates a protective layer on the surface of the metal. This layer helps to protect the knife from corrosion and wear.
The Alox knife is a popular choice for EDC knives because it is durable, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant. The deep drawing process used to make Alox knives ensures that they are strong and reliable. The anodizing process also helps to protect the knives from the elements.
A thicker ropelike 43 lead 2 bight Turk's head knot paracord lanyard, made with 20+ feet of cord, in two parts.
The two pass TH knot is one, and a separate cord was used for the loop end, lanyard knot, pulled through the TH, tightened the TH, then attached a swivel snap hook(small Gaucho knot on it), finished with snake knots.
A bit of needle/thread run through both ends of the TH knot to further secure it in place with the core strands.
For lanyard use with keys, wallet, flashlight, knife, multitool, cell phone, etc. Worn with belt through loop end clipped to item, or clipped to belt loop and loop hitched to item...
blade length is 3". overall length is 7 1/4". weighs a nice and hefty 6 ounces. surprising ergonomic too - the curve of the plier jaws/handles fits well in my closed hand. plus diamond blade/fishing hook sharpener.
