ARTIST NOTE: So I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and I am taking what is called a disease modifying drug. Only no one will step up and actually claim it truly modifies anything. But that is another story. I created this painting "Bindings" after doing research on Consciousness and Cognition and the way that neurons combine to generate acts of perception in the Central Nervous System (CNS). In stepping back I realized that what I was presented with was nothing more than neurological pathways, similar to that of the Labyrinth that we walk in life.
ARTIST NOTE: In hindsight it looks like more paths to me, but when created this piece was about how people intertwine and connect, about the ultimate connection: friendship.
ARTIST NOTE: This is a 30 x 40 inch canvas that I continually paint on. As I work through having Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or as new lesions or symptoms develop, I often pick up a paint brush to work it out. In a Zen way, I have to say that I am not sure this piece will ever be done but it is always done.
