Galilee of the Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul and Reconciliation Area
The Galilee of the Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul is a vast area, organized as a corridor, located underground between the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, of which it belongs, and the Prayer Area. It has a length of 150 meters and the eastern wall is covered with tiles designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira. The access to this area is made through two stairways and two ramps. The Galilee of the Apostles is the common atrium of the chapels of the Reconciliation area – Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Death of Jesus Chapel, Resurrection of Jesus Chapel, Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel – and the St. Augustine Social Hall, multiuse space that shares the same architectural language of the entire complex. In the entrance hall of the Resurrection of Jesus Chapel and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, there is a Via Lucis, made by Vanni Rinaldi.
In the Galilee of the Apostles, one can contemplate two water mirrors, which invite us to reflection and interiority. The first, on the side of St. Peter, alludes to the first creation, the creation of life; the second, on the side of St. Paul, points to the second creation, the Baptism, as a participation in the new life of Jesus Christ.

Suwanee River Junior College
Florida’s modern community college system partially owes its development to a state wide system of 12, all-black junior colleges that developed parallel to a system of white junior colleges during the era of segregation. These institutions were very important for a generation of black Floridians, whose access to higher education was limited because of segregation and economic hurdles. Established in 1959, Suwanee River junior-college provided the black residence of north Florida and south Georgia with post secondary level educational and cultural enrichment opportunities. Like most other black community college institutions founded in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the college had a short lifespan, lasting only seven years. The Suwanee River Junior College is the first college of any in Florida to have a female president. Jenyethel Merritt, a fixture in the local educational establishment, served as president of SRJC for it five of the college’s seven years. The college closed its doors in 1966, merging with formally all white North Florida Junior College.
Members of the Coffs coast whale team with fishing gear which had entangled the mouth area of the 4.5metre calf south of Coffs Harbour, 11/10/05. Bright orange floats are attached to trailing nets or ropes to help slow the entangled whale until the material can be removed, by the team.
The young whale was freed approx 2 kilometres south east of Sawtell and was last seen swimming strongly and freely south accompanied by an adult, most likely its mother.
