1 year old kid playing with mulch mixed with gingko leaves. This is one of the things that I think the Japanese are doing right. In this time and age, most parents don't allow their kids to get down and dirty to feel the earth for fear of germs and parasites that may be lurking around. I, on the otherhand, believe that kids should become more attached to organic stuff rather than barney and/or teletubbies.

The plan for the day was to use the fresh mulch and some burlap donated by Distant Lands Coffee to make wattles to place along the ravine wall.

Applying mulch via compressed pumps. mulch better than with a spade n barrow. 😀

I worked from home today, but took five minutes to create five photos with a quick walk around the house. This is one of the results.

I have mulched my rhubarb plant with leaf mould and protected it with a broken hanging basket

On September 30, 2011, the Ogilvy Washington Business Solutions Team visited the Common Good City Farm in Washington, DC. These are some pictures from our visit!

Great for moving wood mulch. This size saves multiple trips over a normal size wheelbarrow. The trips are the hard part of putting mulch down. Also it is easy to load by tipping the front flat side to the ground, into the pile or onto a trailer. I stand on the front to keep it tipped. Most of my loading is done by gloved hands pushing large amounts and then a coal shovel or snow shovel.

This used to fit on my first homemade lawnmower in my photo series. Now it also fits on my present power wheelbarrow. If I want this type of holder I remove the wheels and tilt the rear support forward and put it on the powered chassis.
