Patron: Muhammad 'Ali (Muhammad 'Ali Pasha al-Mas'ud ibn Agha) 1769-1849, Albanian Ottoman governor & de facto ruler of Egypt (r.1805-1848).

 

Ibrahim Pasha (Kavalalı İbrahim Paşa) 1789-1848, eldest son of Muhammad Ali, Wāli & unrecognised Khedive of Egypt & Sudan (r.1848).

Patrons: Hasan Pasha Tahir d.1803, Albanian commander & acting Ottoman governor of Egypt (r.1803), with his brother 'Abdin Bey Tahir (1780-1827), a member of the core group of Muhammad Ali's (r.1805-1849) commanders; Abdeen Palace was named after him & was built on the site of his residence.

'One Night in Miami' Director Carl Cofield was in Denver on Aug. 14 for pre-production meetings and to attend a meet-and-greet in his honor. To celebrate Black Philanthropy Month, more than 65 members of the Denver African American Philanthropists collaborated with The Links, The Denver Foundation and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts to host a discussion with Cofield moderated by the Theatre Company's Associate Artistic Director, Bruce Sevy. The shared purpose of the Denver Foundation is to to expand philanthropy in communities of color and support the arts. The play runs March 19-April 20, 2015. The Boxer, Stencil Art (in situ), London E1

Patron: Muhammad 'Ali (Muhammad 'Ali Pasha al-Mas'ud ibn Agha) 1769-1849, Albanian Ottoman governor & de facto ruler of Egypt (r.1805-1848).

Built over the ruins of Mamluk citadel buildings in a Turkish Ottoman style of architecture. The domes were rebuilt in the 1930's.
