My current place in one of it's earlier iterations. I need to get rid of a ton of stuff. It was so nice having a sparse place like this. Those huge industrial crt displays were beasts to move around. I both loved them and hated them.

The sleeping Mud Maid was created by local artists Sue Hill and her brother, Pete. This, and their other mud sculpture The Giant's Head, were designed to enhance the woodland experience, following the fashion of Victorian ornamentation.
An odd thing happened this morning; it rained mud!
I left my house this morning at which time it started raining. A little way down the road my house mate asked if it was raining mud. I didn't really respond, being lost in thought and guessing I'd missed some film reference. "Look at your bag!", he continued, and right he was, my bag was splattered with mud, at were my hands and also my glasses.
While awaiting a taxi I noticed that all cars driving by were caked in mud splatter - see picture attached.

The name of Yellowstone National Park's "Mud Volcano" feature and the surrounding area is misleading; it consists of hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles, rather than a true mud volcano. Depending upon the precise definition of the term mud volcano, the Yellowstone formation could be considered a hydrothermal mud volcano cluster. The feature is much less active than in its first recorded description, although the area is quite dynamic. Yellowstone is an active geothermal area with a magma chamber near the surface, and active gases are chiefly steam, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide. However, there are some Mud Volcanoes and Mud Geysers elsewhere in Yellowstone. One, the "Vertically Gifted Cyclic Mud Pot" sometimes acts as a geyser, throwing mud up to 30 feet high.
