Much more difficult to get photos of Red Kite on the ground than in the air. But this hide helped a lot!
Thank you to all who comment and/or fave my images, it is much appreciated.
Thanks to Steve for recommending the visit, thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Je remercie chacun de vous pour vos visites et commentaires très appréciés. Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments highly appreciated.
I much prefer to replace the original S&W (Smith & Wesson) by this S&W (Smile & Wheat).
Prefiero por mucho cambiar el original S&W (Smith & Wesson), que son armas, por este S&W (sonrisa y trigo).
** Thank you so very much to our beautiful Lori for the stunning flowers I used in this photo. **
" Heart still beating but it's not working
It's like a hundred thousand voices that just can't sing
I reached out trying to love but I feel nothing
Oh, my heart is numb
But with you
I feel again
Yeah, with you
I can feel again .. "

Short Eared Owl - Asio flammeus
Over much of its range, short-eared owls occurs with the similar-looking long-eared owl. At rest, the ear-tufts of long-eared owl serve to easily distinguish the two (although long-eared owls can sometimes hold its ear-tufts flat). The iris-colour differs: yellow in short-eared, and orange in long-eared, and the black surrounding the eyes is vertical on long-eared, and horizontal on short-eared. Overall the short-eared tends to be a paler, sandier bird than the long-eared.
The short-eared owl occurs on all continents except Antarctica and Australia; thus it has one of the most widespread distributions of any bird. A. flammeus breeds in Europe, Asia, North and South America, the Caribbean, Hawaii and the Galápagos Islands. It is partially migratory, moving south in winter from the northern parts of its range. The short-eared owl is known to relocate to areas of higher rodent populations. It will also wander nomadically in search of better food supplies during years when vole populations are low.
Hunting occurs mostly at night, but this owl is known to be diurnal and crepuscular as well. Its daylight hunting seems to coincide with the high-activity periods of voles, its preferred prey. It tends to fly only feet above the ground in open fields and grasslands until swooping down upon its prey feet-first. Several owls may hunt over the same open area. Its food consists mainly of rodents, especially voles, but it will eat other small mammals such as mice, ground squirrels, shrews, rats, bats, muskrats and moles. It will also occasionally predate smaller birds, especially when near sea-coasts and adjacent wetlands at which time they attack shorebirds, terns and small gulls and seabirds with semi-regularity. Avian prey is more infrequently preyed on inland and centers on passerines such as larks, icterids, starlings, tyrant flycatchers and pipits.

These teeny, seemingly fragile, very beautiful little Rosemary flowers are on a little plant in a 4" pot in the greenhouse. Is at max 1:1 magnification and also taken in aps-c, so effectively 1.5x, but with a 1.0 d.o.f. and a bit of a crop thrown in.
They were pretty awkward to photograph - I took some photos first and then uploaded in order to get an idea of what they were like, which didn't really help that much as even with the 20x was difficult to tell what was what on these pretty complex flowers, then I took a lot of various little flowers and angles but only a couple worth keeping. A bit hit and miss to say the least :^)

" Lost in skies of powdered gold
Caught in clouds of silver ropes
Showered by the empty hopes
As I tumble down, falling fast to the ground
I know I'll wither so peel away the bark
'Cause nothing grows when it is dark
In spite of all my fears, I can see it all so clear
I see it all so clear
Woah
Cover your crystal eyes
And feel the tones that tremble down your spine
Woah
Cover your crystal eyes
And let your colours bleed and blend with mine
Making waves in pitch black sand
Feel the salt dance on my hands
Raw and charcoal coloured thighs
Feel so cold and my skin feels so paper-thin... "

I
Have never been so much
In love
Before
What a difference a true love made in my life
So nice
So right
Loving you gave me something new
That I'd never felt, never dreamed of
Something's changed
No, it's not the feeling I had before
Oh-oh-oh, it's much, much more
[Verse 2]
Love
I never knew that a touch
Could mean
So much
What a difference
And when we walk hand-in-hand
I feel
So real
Lovers come and then lovers go
That's what folks will say
Don't they know?
They're not there when you love me
Hold me and say you care
And what we have is much more than they could see
(Well, well, well, well, there's so much more now)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Well, well-e-ell, there's so much more, baby)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Well, there's so much, so much more)
What we have is much more than they could see
(I don't care what people say, I don't care what they say)
What we have is much more than they could see
(So, well it's, so, well it's)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Well, we've got so much more than they could see see)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Ah, hey, I say, what we have is so much more)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Ah, hey, love it, having so much more than they could see)
What we have is much more than they could see
(So much more, now, baby, say now)
What we have is much more than they could see
(Ohh, love having so much more than they could see)
What we have is much more than they...
So much space, mile after mile after mile, of fields and skies and crops. Where you can go for miles and not see another vehicle. This is South Dakota, but it's not the only state that is so wide open.
A rather common warbler found throughout the Himalayan Belt. We sighted them almost everyday much of the journey. I know now that these are endemic to the Himalayas.
These are small birds - maybe less than 10 cms and incredibly active in the roadside bushes, trees and clumps of vegetation. I love the color of these birds and they are quite agile. The birds feed on small seeds, tree insects like Spiders, caterpillars and berries maybe. We never saw them on the ground anytime and most of the time were shooting almost 70-80 deg upwards. Except onetime when we were overlooking a valley and got this shot!
Thanks in advance for your views, faves and feedback if any.
There's not much color out in the woods during winter here except brown trees and white snow. Thankfully, there's a few showy birds like this red-bellied woodpecker around to break up that dull monotony.
As much as we love a good legend, in 1948, Bellaire confessed that he and a poet of sorts from the Western U.P. made up the various Indian legends of Big Springs themselves.
Bellaire was the one who sold the Big Spring and surrounding area to the state of Michigan for $10 in 1926.
This shall be the last image of Kitch-iti-kipi for the time being; thank you for your visit!
So much so that the boy forgot about his other shoe? I wish I knew. All I know is, poor and primitive the place may be, these lads are growing rather happily there, at least for the time being...
