C&NW SD40-2 #6827 rounds the curve at MP 20 in Lombard. Built in 1974, she became UP #2975 after the merger.
MP Travel have been using the impressive Volvo B8RLE Plaxton Panther LE demonstrator on Wrexham to Bidston rail replacement service this week - seen here in Wrexham on 9th February, 2021. It is covering remedial work on their Volvo B11R Panther.
As I was getting ready to leave the office, ICE 6418 and ICE 6446 crawled by and prepared to dive off the mainline at the Riverside Generating Station switch at MP 185 to pick up an empty coal train. I knew they wouldn't depart the plant until after dark, so I didn't give them much thought until I crossed the crossing on my way out and saw the BNSF 8117 waiting to head south!
The pair of ICE 6400's disappeared behind the fence shortly after I GTS'ed and the pair of BN SD60M's got their track warrant to keep rolling south. Talk about dumb luck!

Missouri Pacific Railroad SD50 5029 at Cotter, Arkansas on July 17, 1986, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 5029 was the trailing unit on a coal train destined for the Independence Power Plant in Newark, Arkansas. I'm not sure of all of the details, but this train arrived two days earlier and parked in Cotter. Not wishing to walk a mile to get to the Cotter depot, the crew cut off their train and ran around it, parking the power next to the caboose.
Built in March 1978, this well-worn gondola was part of a large order of gons built for Missouri Pacific by CNCF (Constructora Nacional de Carros de Ferrocarril) in Mexico. And despite its age, the MP Buzzsaw logo on this car is in great shape more than 40 years after the UP-MP-WP merger.

A number of Citaro's have arrived in Pristina over the past few years. Several of them, including this one come from RVB Regensburg in Germany.
Relative newcomers to the East Midlands, MP Travel's Megabus M45 from Birkenhead offers a pretty quick and direct alternative to National Express' offerings from Derby to London taking three hours each way.

Originally I had planned on shooting Job 1 crossing the bridge at Onawa, but as I was getting out of the car to walk in I heard them Blowing for Benson. So off to the fill I went to get a shot of them going by MP 19. CITX 3082 leads CMQ 2004 and a short 20 car train.

MP Travel Volvo B12B "9700" W16 MPT sets out from Crewe on a rail replacement service to Wilmslow today, 10th February, 2019. It was new to Group Travel, Audnam, as FJ56 KUB.
Missouri Pacific E8 41 at Saint Louis, Missouri, October 2, 1965, Kodachrome by Lou Schmitz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 41 was built in June 1950 as number 7021 (c/n 8638) on EMD Order 2006 and equipped with two steam generators. It was renumbered during early 1961 to 41, retired in May 1972 and scrapped.
