Conversations took many directions. Some could have gone on all night.

I went to Daytona Beach on a mission trip with my Youth Group. It was the last time for me to go with them because of collage and may age and all.
It took us three days to drive down there and the whole time I felt like I was running away from all my anxiety back home. I'm moving out sooner then I would like to think and panic attacks have been happening more times then not lately. I've been overwhelmed and rundown.
I can't explain how I felt when I got into the ocean for the first time in years. All the control I was clutching to was gone. It didn't matter. For a short time I wasn't planning what was going to happen next or making sure that everyone of my actions was towards me moving away from everything that I have ever known. For a while I was just Summer, floating in the ocean and letting someone else do all the work of holding me up.
This picture may not say the things I wish it did. Its doesn't speak of the peace and shelter I found in Florida or of the hope I felt there. It doesn't show the love of a community that is no stranger to devastation and disappointment. It doesn't count the faces of relief that finally have found someone who is there to help. What it does say is that everyone on the trip was affected in some way. That maybe by helping somebody else rebuild their life, will help you figure out yours. That its sometime okay to take time and just be. To float on your back and give up control or run on the beach and play ball with you friends. That there is hope that everything will be okay.

Community members gathered at Zaytoon restaurant to catch a glimpse of cultural tensions in Shelbyville, TN. Then, we turned inward, to examine what tensions exist in Greensboro, why they exist, and how our community can address them in unity.

One of the Lager family sons looks at his home in the conflict-affected village of Druzhba in eastern Ukraine. The building, which lies near the contact line separating government- and non-government-controlled areas, bears the scars of the protracted conflict. Metal coverings and boarded windows are used as a precaution against the shells and mines.
