First time ever Erode (ED) shed doing the promotions of a movie. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Kamal Haasan as "VIKRAM" releasing worldwide on 3 June, 2022. That's all the locomotive says!

Spray painted Erode (ED) WAP-7 30801 with VIKRAM film's promotion hauling the legendary 12615/Chennai Central ⇌ New Delhi Grand Trunk (GT) Express towards Chandrapur (CD) for the next halt. 😀

Well, the movie is Tamil language based but this loco mostly doing the promotions in Hindi realms. In first ride went to Rajasthan & returned, now hauling GT to National Capital.

Yep, this one is pretty much a grab shot. I still hadn't photographed anything when I made a fairly snap decision to hit the flicks.

Rather than the usual outdoor shot of the cinema AGAIN, I decided to go for something internal.

This was a huge display (which is quite unusual at my local) marketing the soon to be released 'Goosebumps' film. It's not on my 'must see' list, but I daresay I will catch it.

Tonight was 'The Big Short' which was really quite brilliant. Vaguely patronising but in an entirely welcome way. :)

went to check out the simpsons movie today. i was of two minds about this... it was exciting because it was the simpsons. but then i was also a little cautious because the simpsons hasn't been that great in a long time. i still watch it, sure... but it's best days are way past it now. nowadays, family guy, american dad, futurama and south park are funnier.

but i was going to see the movie, there was no doubt about that. overall, it was good... it was funny and i enjoyed experiencing the simpsons on the big screen. but it wasn't a great movie... i doubt that i'll every watch it again unless it's on tv.

caught this poster of natalie portman's new movie... i've been reading about this for ages on natalieportman.com that i almost forgot about it and i was surprised to see this at the cinema. i'm pretty sure i'm going to see it... its natalie portman after all. she's still my fav actress.

Not only did they use "gross motion capture" to get the general body movements down, they used four cameras (seen here) for facial expression capture. Thus making it a REAL performance by the actors.

A Smurf Week event at Columbus Circle gave families time to have some fun together. Our kids are too old for the sort of activities that they had there, but Veronica and I had a good time walking around and taking pictures.

The Smurfs Week was quite a success here in New York. It generated a lot of interest and publicity for the film, which was the main purpose of this series of events, I am sure. I wish I could have seen more of the various happenings but they all seemed to be taking place in the afternoons, while I was at work. I was also disappointed that my home borough of Queens had no Smurf events scheduled. Staten Island was forgotten by the Smurfs also.
