Takao (高尾) is a community in Hachiouji city municipality (八王子市) located at the foot of Takaosan. It has been serving pilgrims and visitors to Takaosan like Mitake in Oume municipality.
There are restaurants and souvenir shops, some of which maintain traditional architectural designs. They have a strange tradition (?) of closing before 6 PM despite the popularity of seeing sunset at the summit of Takaosan.
Stone lanterns are installed to mark the entrance of the winding approach to Takaosan Yakuou'in temple.
Takao is served by Keio Railways, which takes you to Shinjuku in 50 minutes. The name of the railway station is Takaosan-guchi (高尾山口) or the mouth of Takaosan.
Hachiouji is a prosperous city that strides over Chichibu Mountains (秩父山地) and Kantou Plain (関東平野). It has a population of more than half a million being successful in attracting universities, research institutions and factories.

Looks like the bird is trying to contend with a big seed. If I'm not mistaken, they tend to go for smaller seeds due to their small beak and mouth.

Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden. It is situated by Kattegatt on the west coast of Sweden, and has a population of approximately 570,000.
Gothenburg was founded as a heavily fortified, primarily Dutch, trading colony in 1621. In addition to the generous privileges (e.g. tax relaxation) given to his Dutch allies from the then-ongoing Thirty Years`War, the king also attracted significant numbers of his German and Scottish allies to populate his only town on the western coast. At a key strategic location at the mouth of the river Göta älv, where Scandinavia's largest drainage basin enters the sea, the Port of Gothenburg is now the largest port in the Nordic countries
Gothenburg is home to many students, as the city includes the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Volvo was founded in Gothenburg in 1927. Other key companies are SKF and Astra Zeneca.

Male Red-bellied Woodpecker with a mouth full of orange. I put the orange out for the Baltimore Orioles, but only had two this year for a short visit. My backyard.
I haven't posted any African pics for a while. This Angry Hippo (the size of that mouth!!) was bickering with a smaller female hippo. From an outsider's perspective, it appeared she picked the fight and he kind of ended it. Although it was yell and show and no physical fight. Thank goodness! PS, eat your greens.
This Oregon/Dark Eyed junco was enjoying a snack when I interrupted. Soon resumed with the snacking.
Male Common Kingfisher.
He has turned the fish round so that he can feed it head first to one of his hungry chicks back at the nest hole.
Wonderful to see such a fabulous bird at close quarters.
No sharpening applied, just a bit of noise reduction.

This was the top of an eggnog coffee cake I baked last night. Oozing with deliciousness! Made with Wildowsky Diary eggnog.
After a lengthy stretch along the clifftops the climbing is about to get serious with a number of river valleys to cross in the next 2-3 miles. The first is Welcombe Mouth, a local beauty spot
My second shot from Welcombe Mouth Beach. When the tide goes out here it reveals these amazing rock formations that lead into the sea. I think this beach would make a much better photo at sunset, with some nice colour and the rocks it would look awesome. We arrived quite early in the morning and the sky wasn't looking that great so I've gone for a black and white edit with this one.

Eype Mouth is a natural break in a line of sea cliffs on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in west Dorset on the south coast of England. The small River Eype drains into the sea at this point. Eype means 'a steep place' in Old English. The village of Eype (divided into the settlements Lower and Higher Eype) lies just upstream of the rivermouth, which is reached by a single narrow lane which runs down through Lower Eype to a shingle beach with car park.
The coast to the west of the rivermouth is a noted site for rare beetles. Two species found here are unknown elsewhere in Great Britain:
