We're Here! : Mountains and More
Running out of ideas for your 365 project already? Join We're Here!
The We’re Here! group is visiting Mountains and More today. I really wanted to give everyone a nice shot of one of the pretty mountain views we enjoy here in Solano County, Northern California. While not large, I find the local peaks to be quite photogenic.
Unfortunately, the only gap predicted in the stormy weather was right around noon. I decided to go ahead and give it a try, because I really wanted a walk outside. Alas, I was shooting between raindrops. The air was filled with mist and the sun was brutally harsh, and after struggling for an hour I finally resorted to a black and white approach.
This shot is from a spot well into Suisun Marsh, with Mount Diablo in the distance about 35 miles away. The peak is roughly 3,800 feet – a mere foothill compared to the state’s Sierra Nevada Range – but impressive in its setting. And I did have a lovely walk.
Join We’re Here! At least you’ll get a walk!

My dad loved to hike with his brothers and friends (I assume that Alec Purves was one of his hiking buddies), and took a ton of photos up in the mountains and Alpine Meadows. All the more impressive when you learn that my father was nearly blind.
Info on Mt. Strachan here.

As luck would have it I went mountain biking for the first time in over six months yesterday. Even luckier I took a brief video of my exploits on my phone. This is a still from that vid.
When you go to the mountains, you might bring a little Swiss Miss with you!

I like how they are teaching math on the package: 10 pack: 4 more than Nestle 6 count. But they avoid the higher math: 10 pack: 40 less than Nestle 50 count.
Before embarking on your trek in Nepal, it's essential to think about your access to drinking water. Many trekkers heading to destinations like the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Base Camp often wonder about the quality of drinking water in the Himalayas. While Nepal is often referred to as the second richest country in the world in terms of water resources, it's important to understand the actual state of drinking water in the Himalayan region. In the following comprehensive blog, we delve into this matter in detail.
