The Dilwara Temples or Delvada Temples
are located about 2 1⁄2 kilometres from the Mount Abu settlement, Rajasthan's only hill station.
These Jain temples were built by Vimal Shah and designed by Vastupala, Jain minister of Dholka, between the 11th and 16th centuries and are famous for their use of white marble and intricate marble carvings.

Have a nice weekend dear friends :)
The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists the Green Avadavat as Vulnerable because of widespread trapping for the cagebird trade, compounded by habitat loss and degradation through agricultural intensification.
Endemic to central India, one of the bird's remaining strongholds is Mount Abu and that is the main reason we visited this beautiful location. We found them fairly quickly, in a brushy open area amongst the crofts away from the busy town centre.

Rao Sahasmal established the town of Sirohi in 1425 AD. He was the direct descendant of the Deora-Chauhan dynasty that brought the end of the Parmars’ rule over this region. Dhumraja established the Parmar dynasty in 961 AD, over the area known as Arbudha, which included the present day District of Sirohi. Rao Lumba seized Mount Abu from the Parmar King in 1311 AD and established the Kingdom of Sirohi. Lumba ruled Sirohi till 1320 AD with Chandravati as the Capital of Sirohi Kingdom.
Rao Shiv Bhan popularly called ‘Sobha’, the sixth descendent of Rao Lumba, abandoned Chandravati and founded the new Capital, called Shivpuri in 1405 AD. Rao Sahasmal was the son of Rao Sobha Ji. Sahasmal also laid the foundation of the Sirohi Fort in 1425 AD. He moved his Capital from Shivpuri to Sirohi. Shivpuri today lies in ruins.
The sunsets on Mount Abu are infamous, hoards of people go to Sunset Point armed with cameras.
My grandmother was telling me that when the sun sets here it looks like the Earth. I watched the setting sun carefully and noticed there were shapes that formed on the sun like land shapes on our Earth. The sun doesn't set like it does in the UK- colouring the sky orange and slowly getting dark. The sun literally seems to drop out of the sky, and it seemed to get dark pretty quick.
In busy downtown Mount Abu, this beautiful little bird forages for food on the front steps of someone's house, oblivious to nearby vehicle traffic and pedestrians. Unlike some countries (Italy and France, for example), small birds are not hunted for sport in India. As a result, they tend to be quite approachable.
