"He flies through the air with the greatest of ease". I came across a motocross event in Yesnaby while exploring south of the Skara Brae prehistoric site along the west coast of Orkney, Scotland. It was a chance for me to practice a little 'sports' photography. Motocross and motorcycle touring are a very popular, but highly noisy, sport in the northern islands and the car ferry I came north on had dozens and dozens of motorbikes below decks.

Panning at the motorcycle racing. Ok, so 126 is relatively sharp - its possible to read the writing on the small decals, but the other two bikes are out of focus. Maybe not a classic example of panning but I quite like it.
