This motor road grader turned out to be older than I expected. Perhaps I was distracted by the modern lights but the large wheels that control the angle and altitude of the blade are of a fairly old design.
This Austin motor grader has "full dual drive" - I'm not entirely sure what that refers to but I'm certain it's related to the fact that this machine has a grand total of 4 steering wheels.
A remarkable survivor still at work on the re-construction of the Mellieha bypass, Malta in 2012, was Bonnici Brothers Aveling-Austin SG Motor Grader. This was produced by Aveling-Barford Ltd, of Grantham, in association with the Austin-Western Company of Aurora, Illinois, USA. Power was provided by a Leyland AU 600 diesel.
Nebraska Blizzard of April 2009. Photos taken in the area of Gordon. 12 inches of snow and high winds combined to make lots of work for the state road department crews. Shown in the distance is a motorgrader with a v-plow. Picture was taken 3 days after the storm hit!
From middle front row to right, Deere 310 SE turbo 4x4 Backhoe (on lowboy); White 50's dump truck; Oshkosh snow plow; Deere200C LC Excavator, and 624J loader.
Second row back is a Deere 744H loader dumping into the snow plow; a Cat 980G loader, and 14H blade.
Behind the motorgrader is a Deere 544G loader. On the mining shovel is a Volvo EC45 excavator. And last, but certainly not the least is the Bucyrus 495HF mining shovel, five stories tall.

The street became more useful as site preparation progressed. The area under the live oak trees became a shaded parking lot for construction equipment, pickup trucks, and ordinary cars. A Caterpillar motor grader and 613 wheel tractor are probably among the vehicles under the trees. Noontime temperatures were about 88 F (31 C).
