It snowed again last night which created puddles in the gutter. I am drawn to them just like a little kid. My husband hates when I play in the gutter because he doesn't want me to get hit by a car. I get so into what I am doing that it really could happen but I love the reflections and dreamy emptiness it creates. Oh and this is the cute little gift I bought myself last night.
So my 100 day project of spring cleaning my life is really not moving in the right direction. Between spring break, crazy weather and my inability to get motivated it has stalled. I am vowing to jump in where I am and start again today.
After seeing that photo on the breeder's site , I made an appointment to visit when the pupies would be 7 weeks old. I did not even evaluate all of them ... that little pup ranked above the rest of them. He proved to be a great working dog, highly intelligent, balanced and motivated.

Jumièges, le 18 Octobre 2014. Nous sommes un samedi.
Motivé par une expo photographique à l'abbaye de Jumièges.
De Dieppe la route est longue mais belle dès que l'on atteint la Seine.
Sur ses abords de falaises crayeuses, des villages et des maisons uniques et tellement normandes.
Ici une série de photos réalisées encore et uniquement avec mon mobile Sony z2, plein format
Entre la beauté des lieux et une paix incroyable qui y règne,
j'ai gardé le format initial de chacune de mes photos en l'état,
mais en les texturant pour accentuer des "peintures sculptées"
que furent celles ressenties lors de mon parcours initiatique en ces lieux.

Dieppe the road is long but beautiful once we reached the Seine.
On its outskirts of chalky cliffs, villages and single houses and so Norman.
Here a series of photos taken over and only with my mobile Sony z2, full frame
Between the beauty of the place and incredible peace that prevails,
I kept the initial format of each of my photos in the state,
but to accentuate the texturing "sculpted paintings"
as were those felt during my journey of initiation in these places.

The sun light coming across those dense tree leaves make us realized that no matter how many difficulties do we have in our life there will always be a light of hope to have a problem free and happy life like a clear and blue sky in the picture. This hope will make us motivate to move further in life with a fresh spirit.

I felt motivated to take more photos this week. Inspired by the 'Beads' theme for the 4-Sep-2020 'Looking close ... on Fridays' group, I put my glass bead bracelets on a bottle, so the bokeh you can see are more beads around the back of the bottle. I had a fun time getting shots, then the usual hard time deciding which one to use :-)

Today was one of those lazy days when it comes to photography, I kept putting off picking up the camera and finally as the light was starting to sink I figured I'd better get moving.
What better for a day of procrastinating than a photo of a motivator... that and I was a little stumped on inspiration and coffee is always a good model!
Anyway hope everyone has had a good day, and a Happy Independence Day to all my American friends!

“…once upon a time”, in 1991, vintage photo
Venezuela, Parque Nacional Canaima.
The "El Sapo" waterfalls in the Canaima National Park in southeaster Venezuela. El Sapo meaning the frog / toad. Both waterfalls are located on left side from the greater Lagoon with its four larger waterfalls, the Hacha, Wadaima, Golondrina & the Ucaima.
A small boat takes visitors to a corner on the side of the two "El Sapo" waterfalls where you can get out of the boat & take a walk on a narrow natural pathway under the rock overhang behind the waterfalls massive water screen of the Saltos El Sapo & El Sapito. It is advisable doing it in bathing suits, because especially during the rainy season it is not possible to walk in the dry, during the dry season, however, only a trickle remains of the formerly impressive masses of water. The waterfalls makes it one of the attractions in the National Park.
El Sapo is a waterfall in the Canaima National Park in southeaster Venezuela. A hollow way beneath the falling mass of water that allows it to pass behind the water-curtain of the waterfall makes it one of the attractions in the National Park. El Sapo meaning the frog / toad. Both waterfalls are located on left side from the larger Lagoon with its four waterfalls, the Hacha, Wadaima, Golondrina & the Ucaima.
Shortly before Canaima the riverbed of the Río Carrao branches & the river crashes parallel in several waterfalls into the lake Laguna de Canaima. The reunited Rio Carrao then flows from the lake to the Río Caroní. The Salto Sapo along with its small offshoot El Sapito, is looking downstream right waterfall located on the outside.
The Salto Sapo is located in the immediate vicinity of the village of Canaima, which serves as a starting point for tours to the highest waterfall in the world, the Salto Angel.

The BNSF Forsyth Sub east of Billings has to be one of the most boring, mundane pieces of railroad around. Miles and miles of tangent track, modern boring signals, brown grain fields and orange diesels, it's not really something that motivates one to document it. However, about 30 miles east of Billings the railroad takes a sharp turn and starts to follow the Yellowstone River more directly, leading to more interesting shots. I had this one on my list for a few years now, but with a narrow season for good light and a decent drive just to shoot Gevos, I had never gotten around to it. Splitting the Yellowstone River in the background and the Rough Coulee in the foreground, even generic orange looks pretty good here.

Germany Wedel, the marshland, on the left side of the photo, the Elbe Crossing 2, the river Elbe carrying each 277 mtr high pylons, two on each side of the banks of the river.
The pylons of Elbe Crossing 2 are the tallest pylons used for carrying currents for traction.
The mud flats & on right side of the up to 10mtr high dike, the vast, fertile marshland of the river Elbe, a flock of starlings flying over the “Nabu” nature reserve. This nature reserve is very important, migratory birds from the north & partly from the east meet for stop-over here since ever on their trip south in fall & back in spring.

Around Christmas time in the year 1641, a man named Hendrik Busman was walking the 11-mile journey from Weeze to Geldern and stopped, as he often did, to pray at a cross along the road in Kevelaer. While praying he heard a voice say “build me a chapel on this site”.
Although obviously a religious man, he did not pay much attention, until the same thing happened two more times. Then, to further motivate him, his wife had a vision the next Easter in which she saw a chapel with a portrait of Our Lady of Luxembourg inside. As it happened she had been offered the chance to buy such an image previously but decided that it was too expensive.
This was finally the sign that convinced Hendrik that he should do as the voice commanded, and he sent his wife out to try to find the image and purchase it. After a great deal of effort she was able to do so and returned with the image.
On my way back from the daisy field in the mountains of Ermatingen, I made a stop at the local harbour. Since the high water level of Lake Constance at the moment I got some wet feet. But who cares at this sunset :)

The last 2 years of the pandemic, I have often thought about the feeling of make the great escape.
To visualise this was, of course, also the aim of my photographic work, which has contributed greatly to helping us all cope with these difficult times.
Despite all the adversities and restrictions of the pandemic,
I was always motivated to enter the urban space.
In the same way, I wanted to escape into solitude, to stake out my spaces, just for me.
It was not necessarily empty streets and people hidden under masks that I wanted to photograph, but people and scenes that speak for themselves and for this crazy time.

This is one of the (evil) thoughts that has been running through my mind lately as the end of my 365 approaches. After my project I am afraid that I will be floating directionless in an abyss of procrastination (sounds bleak, I know). I actually shot this before my trip to Iceland when I was feeling exactly like this; I was depressed but hopeful that something about Iceland would pull me out of this funk. This is a funk that I think will always be with me in some way or another and I can either lie down and let it take over or let it motivate me to keep creating.

Spain, Valencia, Plaza del Negrito, … fresh lemon picked for your Gin Tonic, the square before officially renamed was until the 1940s called Plaza de Calatrava, thus baptized after the reconquest of València, since the King "Jaume I" decided to donate it to the Order of Calatrava.
The "Cafe El Negrito", named after his location on this square is one of the Carmen's quarter most popular hangouts & during summer months, the "young" crowd regularly spill out on to the square of the same name, the atmosphere is lively & the drinks flow until early in the morning.
Café Negrito has been a benchmark for almost four decades, a highlight of classic Valencian nightlife & one of the oldest businesses in Carmen since it opened its doors in 1982. Exhibitions, musical sessions, a meeting place for both, a good coffee or a drink. This characteristic place opens until dawn every day, claiming its reputation as a 'safe value' in leisure.
