Moving into a new home means finding new treasures in which to decorate. This beautiful cyan blue and copper mosaic glass vase is one of those treasures that I found nearly six years ago when we moved to New Braunfels. I love these colors, they are so rich. The tiny pieces of glass that comprise the mosaic remind me of the earth and sea. I thought this small vase, which adorns my mantle piece in my living room, would be a perfect subject for this week's Macro Mondays theme of Glass.
The Mosaic House is the home of Carrie Reichardt, which can be found in Chiswick, London. This epic undertaking started on the back wall in honour of Luis Ramirez, with a final push in 2017 to complete the house. It features some of the world’s best mosaic artists and was made possible by many people, over many years, with each section telling a story.

Marking another month in my life. I still have goals to move forward with my smugmug site and a blog but while my girlie is off for the summer my focus will be playing with her, not self-promotion. Also for June I have a new goal which is an old goal but I want to restart a daily mindfulness practice. I am not good at stopping and sitting still so even 10 minutes a day feels challenging.
Thank you for stopping by and reading and for your support and comments. I always appreciate any feedback that I get.
Playing with cheese slop mosaics and ended up with all these.
Little bit about each one, from left to right:
1. This one was just built to use these pieces , the middle is just a filler mosaic.
2. An attempt at a small circle, it's pretty tight in the small frame.
3. First mosaic using these pieces.
4. Branching out into round frames, it is a very tight fit.
5. It doesn't fill up the frame fully, but it could probably be
changed up a bit to fit.
6. Just wanted to see how this piece looked upside down as a floor.
7. Not sure if this design is new, I discovered it on my own, but wouldn't be surprised if someone else found it already

This Byzantine-style mosaic mural measuring 18′ by 10′ was created by Helen Bruton in 1936 at the University of California's Art Gallery as part of the Federal W.P.A. program.
The panel is said to depict Sculpture and Dance (a man seated behind a partially carved stone block, and three woman dancers).”

Thanks indeed everyone for your personal comments and also your support from selected groups.
Awards are encouraging and always appreciated especially from those who add my work to their collection of 'faves'.

Samsung QA55Q7FAMKXXT QLED UHD Display. It is a real challenge to take videos of TV displays in well illuminated shops. Reflections from lights and multiple irregular moire structures make it always difficult to get a clean image.

On Friday my daughter, grandson and I drove over to where Malachi's Daddy works to say hi. We take a stretch of road that has a lot of nice little spots of greenery, lush and inviting this time of year. I spotted these two large mosaics, one on each side of the driveway of a home, I think. I'm not sure if it's a residence or a business but the place is huge! Next time we go this way, I'm thinking I might have to stop and see if I can find out who did these beautiful mosaic structures and get some history on them. They have mirror on them ... soooo cool!!
These fish are somewhat rare in the Sydney region, but I saw many at the Rapid Bay Jetty.
Ok, I did something here which I otherwise NEVER do: I photoshoped out a small silvery out of focus fish from the background.
Like my pictures? There are more in "Sex, Drugs and Scuba Diving" and on my blog.
