TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! An unforgettable Fan-Boy moment for me! I've admired Morpheus' exploits on Flickr; never thought I'd get to meet him; he shows up at the NYCC the one day I was there! This was an honor and a blessing! Until next time, be well Morpheus!

A bottle of Morpheus Dark from Picobrouwerij Alvinne in Heule, Belgium, at their own Alvinne Craft Beer Festival 2011.

Morpheus Dark is a 10,2% abv imperial stout brewed with their household Morpheus yeast. It poured a deep reddish brown color with a thin white head. Aroma was a sour sweet mixture with notes of caramel and sour coffee. The flavor was sweet up front before a light acidity washed the mouth opening up for a light bitter finish with some lingering sour notes. A very drinkable beer, but not your run of the mill imperial stout.

Consider this prophetic quote from the character Morpheus in "The Matrix": "What you know you can't explain but you feel it, you have felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong in the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad."

"He who shapes dreams" is the Greek god of dreams and sleep. Morpheus has the ability to take any human's form and appear in dreams.

Morpheus' dream world is protected by the Gates of Morpheus, which had two monsters capable of becoming one's fears, a method to drive one away. Only other Olympians could enter Morpheus' Dream World. It is notable that his dream world is where his family lived - other gods that were exiled out of Mount Olympus.

Morpheus sends images of humans in dreams or visions, and is responsible for shaping dreams, or giving shape to the beings that inhabit dreams.

Morpheus also had special responsibility for the dreams of kings and heroes. For these reasons, Morpheus is often referred to as "Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams".
