Joy! Just a quick photo from early this morning. These small skittish Wood Ducks make me smile. (So skittish that the shutter noise from far away seems to frighten them.)

The ducks flew past one of the new cedars anchored with rebar and heavy support for wind, plus hose in place for irrigating this summer. Sadly, our trees won’t grow large enough this year for these remarkable ducks; they are one of the few duck species equipped with strong claws that can grip bark and perch on branches, and they nest in holes in trees.

Is there a better way to start the day ?

So nourishing. I adore rain and new growth on trees and plants. I know some of you have too much rain or not enough water. I sympathize.

But for now I'm soaking up this gentle moment. And Lll love green, but not too much yellow in it.
