The Road West

Monument Valley, UT

One of several "versions" of this photograph I've processed. (the first one I've shown on Flickr) I was on a turnout which is higher than the area of road shown in this pano view, and it has been cropped to remove the curve in the road, so it looks almost as if it's a drone shot taken from higher in the air.

On the day I visited Monument Valley, there were no clouds in the sky. I composited these from a photo I took above the Arches Park a couple of days earlier. I'm using my kit lens with the telephoto set to 165mm.

John 3:16-17

16 "For God so loved the world, {Or For this is how God loved the world } that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Utah 163, mile 13 looking south

The treaty of 1868 allowed the Navajo people to be the only native nation to use a treaty to return to a part of their homeland.

However, this seems pathetically small recompense for the atrocities done to them. For example, the Long Walk where they were removed from their home land and walked 300 miles to poor land, with hundreds losing their lives on the way or at the new location.
