Montefalco - Right nave of the deconsecrated church of San Francesco - now used as a museum, one of the most important in Umbria for its beautiful frescoes, including the splendid apsidal cycle "The Stories of the life of San Francesco" painted by Benozzo Gozzoli (it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benozzo_Gozzoli) and referred to in my previous post:

The roof inside the winery of Tenuta Castelbuono owned by Tenute Lunelli (of Ferrari sparkling wine fame in Trentino). Built 2006-2012, the winery was designed by artist Arnaldo Pomodoro as a combined winery and art sculpture. The architect was Georgio Pedrotti. designed as the world's first sculpture in which you can live and work. Bevagna, Umbria, Italy. It's called carapace because from the outside the domed roof looks like a Turtle shell.

San Francesco is a gothic-style, former Roman Catholic church located in Montefalco, Province of Perugia, region of Umbria, Italy. The church and adjacent Franciscan convent now functions as the civic art museum.
The church and adjacent convent were constructed between 1335 and 1338. The most notable works are the fresco cycles by Benozzo Gozzoli decorating the St. Girolamo Chapel and the apse; these include Life of St. Francis (1542).

Today I did a photographic outing in Saragano, in Umbria, central Italy. In Saragano there is only one castle, the small town is surrounded by hills with vineyards and olive trees. We are not far from Montefalco, where they produce great good wine. The landscape is sweet. 9 photos.

Bevagna is a peaceful small town 26 km sud-est of Perugia at the bend of the river Tigna and at the foot of the hill where the town of Montefalco is located.
