Il Monte Mucrone con i suoi 2.335 mt. è per Biella la montagna simbolo, con i suoi declivi, che degradano verso valle come a difesa della nostra città, e a custodia della conca d'Oropa con il suo santuario mariano, dedicato alla Madonna Nera, tanto cara alla gente biellese, simbolo della nostra cristianità.
Giosuè Carducci in his poem, Piedmont, spouting our mountains, which stand towering over the plain.
The Monte Mucrone with its 2,335 meters. Biella is a scenic landmark, with its slopes, descending to the valley as a defense of our city, and custody of the basin Oropa with its shrine dedicated to the Black Madonna, so dear to the people of Biella, the symbol of our Christianity.
