What is it about the lure of catching a fish that will get these guys (and they are all men) out in all kinds of weather to perch on a pier in the hopes that a fish will be attracted to that shiny lure?
P.S. The song is "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay", but I don't think Otis was singing about fishing.
I finally got this shot. I've been waiting over 2 years since first finding this spot, for the clouds to look just right.
On Thanksgiving I spent the day out in Joshua Tree national park. I almost didn't bother going to try for this shot because the camp grounds were packed and this location is just above one of the camping spots. The clouds looked too good though, so I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did.
Shot with my 8x10 camera on Ilford FP4+ film.
Film scan, sepia toned in photoshop. When I get back to the local community darkroom in a week or two, I'll make a silver gelatin print and sepia tone it the good old fashioned way :)

Choosing the easy way as the flu more or less makes me idle, an old photo to a new theme on 7 Days of Shooting. Mono Monday on Theme 'between'.
My self-assigned project was to photograph bits of the town hall roof while there was snow on it. This one zoomed in on the clock, which was three hours fast. It has usually kept good time, but the frigid winter might be affecting it.

My 7DOS photo.
Mono Monday
Theme: City Living
This is one of the higher residental buildings in Sydney CBD. It is also partly a hotel. Every apartment has floor to ceiling windows.
Not my cup of tea!!
#MonoMondays is a shot from these viaducts on Folkestone beach from 2 years ago. It started to pour down with rain shortly after I took this so they made a good place to shelter!
As I plan to steer my wedding photography towards a 'documentary' style, I found myself looking over old shots. This small set from 2017 (my first wedding gig) show the best man and groom having a smoke and pint before 'they' commit to the deed. Kinda interesting to look over old work sometimes, I think I initially chose only one or two out of these four images but now I think they all make a nice set.
My missus walked pass me as I was working on these in LR, they immediately caught her eye and she said 'wow! very 'Reservoir Dogs' like! 😎
It's been a while since I've done a mono conversion, but as it's #monomonday on Flickr today I thought I'd give it a go with an image I took in a wheat field on Saturday night in Herefordshire.
The colour version of this will probably surface at some point as there were some nice pinks in the sky.
This was edited on my iPad as I'm not at home and don't have access to Photoshop.
2018 photo100 - #39
I don't usually post two shots from the same show, especially not in a row, but this one really appealed to me.

Okay okay… my apologies, this is the very last 'cone of shame' moggy pic, the collar came off today! Come Wednesday he's a free kitty to roam and kill...... sorry I mean "play outside"!
Anyway, definitely getting some space cadet vibes from this one. $700 vet bill well spent.
Soft- 7 days of shooting

Even though it is a gorgeous day I prefer to remember what this scene looks like in summer.
