For Macro Mondays - On A Coin
I chose the flower of the Jade Plant, which is also called a Money Plant to put on the 50c coin. Maybe the coin will multiply like the plant. The flower is 20mm across

Always a welcome sign when my money plant starts to flower. I was hoping they would be open by this weekend’s challenge but the buds will have to do!
Have a great weekend Flickr friends and thanks for viewing 😀
The Money Plant is a biennial that is grown for the silvery white, flattened, disc-like seed pods. Plants bloom with clusters of lavender flowers in spring and make pods second summer after seeds are sown. It is these coin-shaped pods that make it attractive in dried arrangements.

I have no idea how my money plant has survived, let alone flower again!! It lives in my porch, which it obviously likes, as it’s grown huge!! Last summer, during the very long hot drought, I thought it was going to die. Too hot for it and the leaves died off in great numbers. I’d like to say I nurtured it back to health but truth be told, I’m not very good with indoor plants lol. Somehow it has returned to full health with fat beautiful leaves and now tiny beautiful flowers.

Crassula ovata, commonly known as jade plant, lucky plant, money plant or money tree, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and Mozambique; it is common as a houseplant worldwide
Last year I collected a lot of seeds from this plant... and this is the first to bloom.
We call it Money Plant, but also known as Silver Dollar, Honesty, Lunaria.
After the flowers fade... the coins appear!!
Money plants are popping up all over the garden... looks like I'll be seeing a lot of coins this year!!!
Lunaria annua
Common Name(s):
Annual Honesty Dollar Plant Honesty Lunaria Money Plant Moneywort Moonwort Silver Dollar
Phonetic Spelling
loo-NAIR-ee-uh AN-yoo-uh
Description
Silver Dollar is an herbaceous biennial in the mustard family. It grows up to 3' tall and is taller than it is broad. The flat papery fruits are showy and are this plant's most valued feature. Flowers bloom in late spring to summer and the fruits appear in midsummer. This plant flowers the 2nd year from propagation by seed. Lunaria is derived from luna, the Latin name for moon, a reference to the shape of the fruit. It is used most often in dried floral arrangements. This plant requires full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. If you start it in your garden it will be there forever as it can be weedy.

Fascinating is the plant that can visually hook gardeners, not with fancy foliage nor flashy flowers, but rather dried seed pods—those faded leftovers of a glorious growing season. Well, welcome to the strangely fascinating world of lunaria (Lunaria annua) also known as silver dollar plant or money plant because of the round, parchment-like seed casings it produces in late summer that have the shimmer of freshly minted silver coins.

Lunaria, in Latin, means "moon-shaped". Lunaria annua is a plant that leaves silvery moon-like membranes once the seeds fall off the "pod". The plant is also called Money Plant, Honesty, & Silver Dollars.

Epipremnum aureum is a species of flowering plant in the arum family Araceae, native to Mo'orea in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. The species is a popular houseplant in temperate regions, but has also become naturalised in tropical and sub-tropical forests worldwide, including northern Australia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Pacific Islands and the West Indies, where it has caused severe ecological damage in some cases. The plant has a multitude of common names including golden pothos, Ceylon creeper, hunter's robe, ivy arum, house plant, money plant, silver vine, Solomon Islands ivy, marble queen, and taro vine. It is also called devil's vine or devil's ivy because it is almost impossible to kill and it stays green even when kept in the dark. It is sometimes mistakenly labeled as a Philodendron in plant stores. It is commonly known as money plant in many parts of the Indian subcontinent. It rarely flowers without artificial hormone supplements; the last known spontaneous flowering was reported in 1964. 31069
