The Guinea turaco (Tauraco persa), also known as the green turaco, is a species of turaco, a group of near-passerines birds. It is found in forests of West and Central Africa, ranging from Senegal east to DR Congo and south to northern Angola. It lays two eggs in a tree platform nest.
The Guinea turaco, often inconspicuous in the treetops, is approximately 43 cm long, including a long tail. The plumage is largely green and the tail and wings are dark purplish, except for the crimson primary feathers that are very distinct in flight. In the westernmost subspecies buffoni, which sometimes is known as the Buffon's turaco, there is a white line above and in front of the eye and a black line below the eye. In the nominate subspecies (T. persa persa) of the central part of its range and zenkeri of the southeastern part there also is a second white line below the black line. Unlike similar turacos with red bills, even adult Guinea turacos lack a white rear edge to the crest.
This species is a common in climax forest with plentiful tall trees. It feeds on fruit and blossoms.
Am 3. Juli 2018 wurden die beiden Bengal-Tiger von Mutter Rani im Familiepark Mondo Verde geboren.
Mutter Rani ist Rot-Gold im Fell. Vater Rakhan ist ein weißer Bengalischer Tiger.

On 3 July 2018, the two Bengal tigers were born by mother Rani in the family park Mondo Verde.Mother Rani is red-gold in the fur. Father Rakhan is a white Bengal tiger.
Am 3. Juli 2018 wurden die beiden Bengal-Tiger von Mutter Rani im Familiepark Mondo Verde geboren.
Mutter Rani ist Rot-Gold im Fell. Vater Rakhan ist ein weißer Bengalischer Tiger.

The Mondo Verde park is a 25-hectare theme, amusement and animal park located in Landgraaf, province of Limburg. World Gardens Mondo Verde mainly shows international gardens with the associated culture. There is also a modest amount of animals to see. De Zwarte Ibis
ziet er op afstand geheel bruinzwart uit.
Plegadus falcinnellus betekent Glanzende ibis, wat eigenlijk een veel betere naam is. Als de zon op de veren schijnt, komt het glanzende groene- en paarse verenkleed tevoorschijn. De mogelijkheid bestaat dat deze zeldzame vogelsoort binnen tien tot twintig jaar in Nederland gaat broeden.
Het vogelparadijs is 6000m² groot en is hiermee de grootste vogelvolière in Europa. Tijdens de bouw van de vogelhal stond de vogel centraal en wilde Mondo Verde het zo hebben dat de vogel zich er echt thuis voelt. In de vogelhal zijn veel bomen en vijvers.

Vliegt met gestrekte hals en kent een balts waarbij de vogels 'dansen' en sprongen maken.
De snavels van deze dieren zijn erg scherp. De kraanvogel gebruikt zijn snavel als speer op prooien te vangen.

De keuze van de diersoorten is weloverwogen: bezoekers zien soorten die het moeilijk hebben in de natuur als gevolg van menselijk handelen.
De witte leeuwen bijvoorbeeld zijn niet alleen door hun opvallende uiterlijk in het nadeel bij de jacht, ook zijn ze in het verleden erg aantrekkelijk gebleken voor jagers vanwege hun vacht. De laatste in het wild levende exemplaren zijn vermoedelijk in 1970 gevangen. Sindsdien is er met witte leeuwen gecontroleerd gefokt in zoos om deze prachtige dieren voor volgende generaties te behouden. Wereldwijd zetten parken en natuurreservaten zich in om deze soort in stand te houden.
