A vintage Nikkor 50 mm - f/1.4 lens was reverse-mounted on the camera using a reversal ring. The aperture was set to f/1.4.

I was in the garden looking for insects this morning, trying to think of something in the shed or the 'third drawer' in the kitchen that might be broken. While trying to get a better position to take a shot of a fly I backed into and broke this small (6 mm diameter) branch on the Pittosporum tree.

Size: Less than 3x3 inches

I decided on an abstract approach. This is a perfume glass bottle with vertical grooves on its side. There are 2 light sources. A yellow incandescent light at 2 o'clock and a LED torch light at 9 o'clock. You would not think this is glass.

A sea anemone, growing inside a sea shell, a natural container. (1 of 2)

Macro Mondays, theme: Contained

The sea anemone is about half an inch across - it was not possible to hold up a ruler for a more accurate measurement since this was taken in an area of active surf - but the grains of sand give an indication of the small size.
