"So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here..."

EXPLORE!
Taken in the city of Dana Point, California -- but it really reminds me more of a sunset off some tropical island in the Pacific... complete with a fishing boat on the water!
The sight was truly beautiful in person, that magnificent California weather living up to its reputation. To top it all off, I got to test out my new PowerShot SX280, and so far it's been performing admirably! (For one thing, this shot was taken at 20x zoom....)

Sometimes a miracle comes along at just the right moment. Pebbles was covered in mange and emaciated, had severe kennel cough, and was scheduled to be put down. A few months ago, she was pulled from the Lancaster shelter (on her last day). Someone recognized she was special and saved her. At first she could hardly walk. Now four months later, she is the sweetest Pit Bull you will ever meet. Her mange is gone and now she can run, play, and jump. Her foster mom is not exactly sure how old she is but she thinks she’s between 9-months to 1 year. She has a very good temperament and gets compliments all the time. Pebbles is well behaved, potty trained, excellent with kids and other dogs (small and large). Her foster sister is only 12-pounds and she plays really well with her. She is super submissive and is not the Alpha dog. Pebbles loves walks and is great on a leash – she’ll walk right by your side the entire time. You can take her in cars because she does great in cars. She is very affectionate and would love to sit in your lap (if you let her) plus she really doesn’t bark. Right now Pebbles weighs 50-pounds and we don’t think she’ll get too much bigger. She is brown with light brown eyes. Her foster Mom always tells says she will make someone the perfect dog. Pebbles truly is a tribute to the resilience and forgiveness of the doggie spirit.

Transwestern hosts an annual conference to recognize its top producers. This year's conference was held at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California.
After the General Session, the women are invited to attend a Women's Networking Tea on one of the resort's terrace. COO Mark Doran opens the tea, followed by Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Colleen Dolan, who focuses on how to recruit more female professionals to Transwestern.

Attendees are invited to an after-party following the awards dinner. Games and plenty of lounge space are available to network and congratulate colleagues.

To close out the conference, all attendees are invited to a Come-As-You-Are Party. This year's party was, appropriately, beach themed. This year's party was also the first appearance of a Transwestern band, made up of our own team members.

It's a hot summer, so the fake beach is back in Chamberlain Square for another year.
Birmingham Town Hall is a Grade I listed concert and meeting venue in Victoria Square, Birmingham.
It was created as a home for the Birmingham Triennial Music Festival established in 1784, the purpose of which was to raise funds for the General Hospital, after St Philip's Church (later to become the Cathedral) became too small to hold the festival, and for public meetings. Between 2002 and 2008 it was refurbished into a concert hall and is now used for performances for various different music types and events such as Aston University graduation ceremonies.
Construction began in 1832, with an expected completion of 1833. After various delays it was finished and opened in 1834. The architects were Joseph Hansom and Edward Welch.
