Hawaii, the beautiful North Shore of Oahu offers the perfect location for a Mommy to Be, maternity photo shoot. Rain interupts the photo session, but adds a rainbow as a backdrop. Calm, peaceful, beach, coastline setting at sunset. I love Hawaii.
Between a few rain showers, I had a wonderful time photographing my daughter's maternity / mommy to be photographs. The sun rays were fabulous and the North Shore location near Haleiwa, Oahu, Hawaii, was perfect. Her baby girl Kaia is a beautiful mermaid from the ocean.

This is the bravest mom-to-be I ever met.
On Friday, she found out during her routine examination that her unborn babygirl's heart has stopped beating. It stopped before she was ever able to listen to it... :-(
On Saturday she asked me if I would still do the maternity session, since she needed the memories for herself, but also to prove to herself and her babygirl that this pregnancy and this precious life existed!
It was the hardest maternity session I ever did. I cried while editing her images, that I gifted to her. I cannot accept money for it, it just feels wrong on every level.
On Sunday, her babygirl was still born. I feel so devastated. It's not even my loss, but since I got so close to it, it almost feels like it. I pray for her and her babygirl. I hope that she'll find happiness again.
