Felt, thread and sterling silver. April 2011.
I have been laser cutting felt as part of my experimentation with textiles and textile techniques. I stitched together this form as part of a series of jewellery based on the theme: Organic Modular Structures. This felt object can be manipulated into different forms by pushing a side in to form concave surfaces anywhere on the form. The shape shown in this image is how i made the Silver pendant version of this form.
This 1864 banking house was demolished in 1936. I thought it was pitty that such a nice piece of architecture no longer exists. My goal was to reconstruct it in LEGO as close to original as possible.

July 6, 2018 - After dinner walk exploring the area around Hotel Kulusuk. These buildings appear to be modular shipping containers. On the side they have marking from the United States of America. They look as if they are abandoned housing. Kulusuk, East Greenland.
Die Wolle habe ich im Rhönschafladen in Ginolfs gekauft. Das ist ein Dorf in der bayerischen Hochrhön. Die Wolle ist ungefärbt und hat eine wunderschöne Melierung. Ich habe sie ohne speziellen Einsatzzweck gekauft. Im Buch „Knitting without tears“ habe ich mit dem modular tomten jacket das m. E. ideale Modell für die Wolle gefunden. Es fehlt nur noch der Reißverschluss
