Nestled between the bustle of Cafés, Restaurants, Banks and Cinemas is the Autumn Park, a quiet retreat for LEGO city residents. This modular format set contains 1090 pieces and 6 minifigures.

The young couple who got engaged at the Parisian Restaurant are finally tying the knot in the corner Gazebo as a young girl watches, swinging under the orange hued oak tree.

Nearby, old friends enjoy their daily game of chess on the giant chess board. They'll soon grab a hot dog, pretzel or some popcorn from the street vendor out front before throwing their change into the fountain statue of Lord Brickton.

To see the Modular Autumn Park in more detail, check out the video fly-through above showing off its features in more detail.

This was one of the most challenging facades I ever built, but I‘m quite happy how it turned out. Inside you can find also an architect‘s office. This gave me the chance to try some microscale building for the first time.

A couple of weeks ago, I got my hands on a 1592 Town Square set (Dutch version). I had to restore it a little, and then I got the idea to make a building for my modular street inspired by this set. So this is the result. A corner house, built in the middle ages, the last in its sort, next to the last remaining part of the city walls. Maybe it was the house of the gatekeeper. Today the space behind the gate isn't used as road any more, but houses a little snack corner, where you can eat 'soep en worst' (as in the original 1983 set).

Next to another modular MOC it looks very small, but that is to be expected from a little mediaeval house.

I haven't yet remade the statue and the parade from set 1592.

It is here finally! The first shop along the main street of V City is a small one with a big name. The new Disney Store offers different products of its several franchises, including PIXAR and Star Wars.

The client (of course I am making this up) wants a small modern building, but contains some essence of its brand. Undoubtedly the castle becomes the starting point for my design brainstorming session. My initial idea is a little box with a castle, and I began to break down the important elements from the castle to form the design language.

The facade profile of the building comes from the two side towers above, and I only extracted the cut-corner shape. This slightly chamfered entrance also helps the portal stand out better.

Modular Bank, front view. First designed in MLCad, then built with real bricks.

This Modular Double Cube was created in 2001 and was in my display shelf all these years. The model was folded from copy papers and still looked good, although the colours are slightly faded.

3 slightly different modules, 12 of each are used in the assembly. The rough sketches of the modules were sent to Meenakshi Mukerji who successfully managed to decipher and reproduced the model and posted it at her website - www.origamee.net/index.html

I will draw the proper diagrams and make them available soon.

Inspired by nnenn's slew of arcade spacecraft and Peter's Steppenwulf. Oh and GS's Skygrasper and Macross's VF-1 booster packs too.

Quite a few details not yet shown :

1) 4 different landing gear systems (all included in the current modules)

- for initial pod

- for second and third upgrade

- for fourth upgrade

- for fifth upgrade

2) fuel tanks for the second and third upgrade, to be discarded on attaining fourth upgrade.

I called it 'Squeeze unit' because you can push the sides and the model changes. In this case you will have a cube with triangular flaps.

This set was not in my list but I caved in after seeing photos from Sander... :D It is indeed a nice set. One rant only is that I forgot how much I dislike this modular building style... the parts keep coming off! Argh...

Celebrating my 9th piece of modern architecture in the archiBRICKture series, the modular LEGO Store is a colorful and clean building where both adults and kids will find all the joy with the LEGO bricks!

The design rips off all colors except on the front door, above where you can find all the different colors of LEGO bricks, the signature of this brand. Next to the door is the giant wooden sculpture of minifigure, and people will have no difficulty to locate the store!

The new building introduces different curves and round corners to soften the block massing, giving the facade a subtle but interesting look. The curves also go around the facade cut-out for the minifigure statue and the glass wall behind it, which allows sunlight to enter the shop.

There are 3 floors and a rooftop. Inside, you can find all the popular box sets including the latest ones, a Pick-A-Brick corner, a children play area and a LEGO factory machine display. On the rooftop, you can have some refreshments, or share ideas if there is any MOC event.

So now you have a new place to haunt, what are you waiting for?

Custom Moog Modular. I spent the day burning this in. The modules were restored and assembled into this custom configuration by a good friend of mine. It sounds …… well , like a Moog!

I borrowed this concept from a modular design recently posted by Hare_ru. My version is based on the strut interlocking concept from my ZEBRA construction system. However, each of the units is folded from an A4 sheet precreased with the Six Interlocking Ducts base grid instead of a ZEBRA ABO or ABX grid.

Here is another section of modular terrain. This time I chose to do a stream, since water is one of the areas where I think modular terrain standards could benefit from an update.

Here is the first module, showing the axles I have inserted in preparation for connecting the two modules.
