This small ceramic candleholder is by Italian maker Bitossi. This example is unmarked, but retains the sticker of the Swedish retailer Illum. It was found in Fargo, North Dakota.

This covered jar is by Italian maker Bitossi. Oddly, the entire top section with handle and what appears to be a spout is a lid which reveals an orb-shaped vessel. It is hand-signed 54/7 Italy and retains its original Rosenthal-Netter import sticker. This example was found in Des Moines, Iowa.

This posy ring of separate, small vases (8 in total) is by Italian maker Bitossi. Likely manufactured just after World War II, it predates their well-known mid-century modern designs. It is hand-signed CG/8V Ztaly.

This miniature vase is by Dutch maker Vermeulen en Zn Potterbakkerij, which operated from 1899 through 1964 mostly in Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk, just outside Leiden.

Creato per ospitare famiglie che intendono trascorrere lunghi soggiorni in Penisola Sorrentina, "Asia" ha anche un balcone che costeggia l'intero appartamento dove rilassarsi nelle calde serate estive.

Il mare è il tema che ha ispirato l'appartamento "Europa". Dal terrazzo al piano attico il panorama è incantevole mentre negli interni le tonalità bianche e blu, gli oggetti, i tessuti e gli artworks ricordano gli ambienti di uno yacht o di una elegante casa al mare. In "Oceania" le delicate tonalità neutre fanno da cornice ad un appartamento che ha anche una piccola sala lettura con vista sul Golfo di Napoli e due terrazzini attrezzati per colazione e cene all'aperto con vista sul Vesuvio.

This small two-handled vase is by German maker Dümler & Breiden. It has the molded marks "DB 664-13 Germany", and was found in Duluth, Minnesota.

This small jug is by an unknown Italian maker, imported by Mitteldorfer Strauss of New York under their Peasant Village name. It is hand-signed Italy PV 66328 and was found in Minneapolis.

This small cylinder vase is by mid-century Hungarian ceramicist Eva Bod. It is hand-signed Bod on the base.

This colorful ashtray is by 20th-century Italian maker, Marcello Fantoni (1915-2011). It is hand-signed signed "02089 Fantoni Italy for Raymor".

This exaggerated and comical ceramic lion is unsigned and by an unknown maker.

This vase is by Italian maker Bitossi. This is the Granada decor, with raised floor petals in blues, greens, and white against the rough-textured dark brown body. It is hand-signed 44/4 Italy.

This wall plate features a blue-skinned woman with brilliant red hair exposing her breasts. It is hand-signed J(something) Rome.

This ceramic planter with a basket weave design is by Italian maker Bitossi. It is unmarked an only retains a portion of its original import label, of which "Made in Italy 76..." is still readable. It was found in Rochester, Minnesota.

This candle cage in the form of a bottle with a foamy lava glaze is by Italian maker Ceramiche Baldelli, founded in 1943 by Dante Baldelli (1905-1953). It is hand-signed "Baldelli Città di Castello" followed by an indecipherable number.

This ceramic covered jar features a modernist depiction of fish in a repeating pattern. It is faintly-signed, but the maker's name remains unidentified. It was found in Minneapolis.

This ceramic ashtray depicting Taurus the bull from the Zodiac is by Spanish maker Alfaraz. It is stamped Alfaraz Made in Spain and retains a sticker with the numbers 9000/10 followed by an unreadable handwriten code. It was found in Stillwater, Minnesota.

This compote is by Italian maker Bitossi, part of their Cambodia decor. It was imported to the United States by Goodfriend Imports. It is hand-signed 95/941 Italy and was found in Roseville, Minnesota.

This vase is by Pacific Stoneware, which operated from 1890-1986 in Portland, Oregon. This example has molded marks reading c 1972 Pacific Stoneware Inc. USA, B Welsh (for Bennett Welsh, owner of the pottery since 1959). It was found in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Another unique faux painting idea for a bathroom except that it's tissue paper and not paint this time. The client was thinking wall paper and I was thinking grass cloth, so we came up with this great look...

Just a quick hair illustration.

The Campus Center building that was designed by Rem Koolhaas on the campus of The Illnois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

 

The campus was largely designed by the famous architect Mies van der Rohe, and Rem included photos of Mies van der Rohe into the Campus Center building.

This low bowl or ashtray is by American studio ceramicist, Stephen Polchert (1920-2008), who created work in and around Omaha, Nebraska. The interior glaze is a deep luminescent blue and the rim features the intials LAD, potentially signifying this is a gift or commemorative work for particular person. It is hand-signed S. Polchert 4-67, and was found in Omaha.

This stylish low bowl was designed by Jane & Gordon Martz at Marshall Studios of Veedersburg, Indiana. It is unmarked and has lost its original sticker. It was found in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

This small enamelware tray is by Italian maker Vallenti, and is hand-signed. It was found in Madison, Wisconsin.

This ceramic vase/candleholder is by Spanish maker Alfaraz. It retains the original sticker reading Alfaraz Made in Spain Hand Made Hand Decorated.

This small tray features smoking and drinking accessories to the designs of Stig Lindberg. It was produced by Gustavsberg Pottery of Sweden, is marked with Stig Lindberg's signature mark, Sweden and 198 Ö A. The original sticker "Design Stig Lindberg" remains.

This small vase is by Italian maker Fratelli Fanciulacci. It is hand-signed IE 566 Italy and was found in Rochester, Minnesota.

Here is a Kuhl Kitchen. Sexy cabinets, modern design. This kitchen was a part of a larger whole house remodel that won a Coty award in 2009. Kitchen remodeling in Edina is a staple for Kuhl Design and Build.

This cigarette box is by Italian maker Bitossi. It is hand-marked 530/200 Italy.

This hand-painted cup with a school of colorful fish is by Century House, which produced ceramics from 1948-1963. It is marked Century House 1954.

This large vase is by Italian maker Bitossi, Unmarked and no longer retaining its import sticker, it is unmistakable via the glaze and distinctive stamping. It was found in Falcon Heights, Minnesota.
