A characteristic box built of sterling boards was a perfect response to the needs. The area made of sterling boards is at the same time a kitchen, comfortable bedroom, office and a cleverly concealed “hiding-room” for a child. There is a “secret base” with toys and “lil'pirate's” treasures just behind a mobile shelf unit. Putting out the shelf unit is already a great fun!

Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue (also known as Coney Island Terminal) in Coney Island, Brooklyn, is the world's largest rapid transit terminal facility, and notable as the most energy-efficient mass transit facility in the United States. It serves as a terminal for four different lines of the New York City Subway, and is served by D, F, N, and Q trains at all times.

The station is located at the corner of Stillwell and Surf Avenues in Coney Island, the site of the former West End Terminal; it is the southernmost terminal in the New York system. It has eight tracks and four island platforms, with trains entering from both compass north and south; however, it serves as the railroad-south terminal for all trains. This large facility was designed at a time when Coney Island was the primary summer resort area for the New York region, with all of the rail lines in southern Brooklyn funneling service to the area.

I saw the unexpected straight lines in the historic building of Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) after seeing all the curves and arches in the same building (see the picture inside the comment).

Cambourne Church stands at the heart of the community, a modern place of worship shared by several Christian denominations. Opened in 2001, it reflects the town’s beginnings as one of Cambridgeshire’s newest settlements, combining contemporary design with a warm, welcoming spirit. Beyond services, it hosts concerts, local events, and support groups, making it both a church and a community hub.

A floating home by the sea. Modern and comfortable. The house is surrounded by a wooden deck and shallow water. A bridge connects the deck to the guay. Fully interiored as always. Kitchen, toilet and living room downstairs. Bathroom, bedroom and storage space upstairs. You find more photos of the interiors in my photostream.

Inspiration comes from childhood summers and sailing with my parents. It was a challenge to catch the maritime feeling with details such as railings and stays and at the same time keep the design clean and modern.

I used dark blue bricks to create the water surface. The more common technique with transparent tiles or plates wasn't really on option because it didn't fit in the colour scheme.

This Dutch 55 cent postage stamp, issued in 1997, features a modern and abstract design with two stylized human profiles facing each other. At the center is an eye containing a star, symbolizing communication, understanding, awareness, and a shared vision. The minimalist graphic style is characteristic of Dutch stamp design from the 1990s, a period known for conceptual and contemporary themes.

Atlantis, The Palm is a Dubai hotel resort located at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah. It was the first resort to be built on the island and is themed on the myth of Atlantis but includes distinct Arabian elements

I felt a need to go back to craft and make a stool. I had the idea that I would use some of the things that I have learnt doing collage and assemblage. Namely that things can have texture and be asymmetrical and not always perfect. I attempted this by using different woods, then different processes for making the legs: one leg turned on a lathe, one carved with axe and chisel, one roughly planed with a scrub plane (ie, not smoothed), one spokeshaved into facets and in two different woods. I also tried to vary the angles of the legs to inject some personality but only partially succeeded in this (they are mostly similar angles). Then I experimented with the tenon ends, trying different wedging techniques. I think the next version could be more asymmetrical. I did all the tenons with adjustable and hollow augers.
