The pattern on her face was made by sunlight through the hat but a little bit of off camera flash helped to fill some of the very dark shadows without killing the effect. Lucky day.

Another beauty shot from the archives. Shot during af model workshop back in 2013.

This photo shows the value of a makeup artist. I haven't done any retouching to this photo besides the monochrome conversion, which is just an ILFORD PAN F look with a green filter effect.

Treaty Oak Model Shoot

Ivory Fox (Instagram) is a performer and burlesque dancer that I shot on film like over 5 years ago. I remember shooting her with Jen and a Camera in Chinatown, NYC.

I shot my #mamiyarz and Portra film. Great times and medium format film never disappoints.

So, black and white or colour...... The colours are quite muted so I thought a B&W might be more effective. I think it probably is but I'd be interested to hear what others think......

Back in September I signed up for another ImageX photowalk having taken part in one earlier in the year. As before this involved a small bunch of photographers wandering round Oxford with a couple of models.

After spending a bit of time in the Ashmolean we headed to the Stage Door of the New Theatre to get a few shots of Elle and Cami. Elle is an aspiring actress so she was keen to get some shots that looked like they were just hanging around between rehearsals......

Modelshoot meets hay bale

Bennie Thomas mid flight. Bennie does mixed martial arts and got a lot of air from basically a standing start (on concrete, no less).

Strobist: X1600 with a long throw reflector, camera left, as key (and also to throw the shadow). It is at f/11, roughly +2 on the ambient. There is also an AB800 in a gridded beauty dish, front, as fill and set to f/8.

Another night time portrait of alternative model 'Paula of Sweden', This was a ten second exposure but unlike the other shots previously uploaded, the flash did not fire. I actually quite like this........

The event was my first attempt at 'light-tube' photography but as it was taken at a recent LightpaintersUK meetup it proved easy as the organisers are very knowledgeable and experienced. They also provided the expensive kit included the Pixelstick used for this shot.......
