This years model shoot was on the property of Klug's Photo World www.klugsphotoworld.com/ in the early evening. The shoot headed up by Jeff Klug at his Studio. Each year we get five or so new models just starting out and as a club we shoot them in various locations (setups) outside and inside the studio. Each club photographer that partakes in the event provides ten of our best shots to each model for their portfolio. Jeff is also head of the Menomonee Falls Camera Club www.falls-photo.org. I am veru disappointed in my photos this year. It was dark and dreary some very light rain even. Reflectors did not work at all and with shooting in groups of about 4 or 5 other photographers off camera flash just didn't work well at all. which just left me with high ISO and or grainy and un desirable shots. Maybe next year will be better.

We had a photo shoot at Colchester tonight at Artsy Image with the beautiful model Siobhan Blackburn, I don't like using photoshop on models faces I think it makes them look false and Siobhan certainly does not need it

Not exactly my thing, but ... well, it's not exactly my thing.
There is a bank of compact florescent bulbs camera right, with a sheet over it, forming a tungsten-balanced large softbox. Weak fill camera left from a reflector.

Strobist: basically glamor lighting. Key is an Elinchrom Quadra in a deep octa, boomed over camera, f/11. Rim lighting is provided by 2 B1600s in gridded strip boxes, right and left rear, approximately f/8. Triggered by Pocket WIzards.
This was my first experience shooting with the Quadra and the deep octa, having White Lightning/AB equipment as well. The Quadra, because it is battery operated, has slightly longer recycle times than I am used to. However, it is predictable - every shot is consistent. It is very easy to consistently adjust power levels (the Quadra is precise. The ABs are +/- 1/3 stop, depending on their mood). Not a knock on the ABs, but the Quadra is like a fine Swiss watch. The Rotolux 39" octa is exquisite. I love my Buff beauty dish, the PLM, and the Buff foldable softboxes too; this is just another tool but man is it gorgeous.
