Mobile Quest is a free, week-long summer camp underwritten by the New Learning Institute and developed by Institute of Play for game-based learning school Chicago Quest. With a focus on systems thinking, game design and mobile technologies, Mobile Quest gives incoming sixth grade students the opportunity to collaborate with experts to turn great ideas into great games. Using full-featured smart phones and the city as their game space, participants learn the fundamentals of game design and geo-locative technologies through play, analysis, design and collaboration.

In the footsteps of the OLPC XO and Intel's Classmate Laptop, here's a concept sketch of an integrated laptop and PDA. The touchscreen of the PDA would double as a touchpad for the laptop when docked (otherwise a trackball in the dock could be used instead). The capabilities built into the PDA could also be used to augment those of the laptop - e.g. built-in microphone, speakers, possibly even camera or even processor; or the PDA screen could provide "soft keys" for extending the capability of the laptop.
