Today is a very happy day for Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Lake Hills Church and, most of all, our dear friend Ellis, who will sleep in his own home tonight for the first time since the 1980s.
Ellis has put a lot of hard work into this, and so have the many volunteers and MLF staff who renovated the trailer. Ellis is paying rent on his own dollar by finding income opportunities through the community that surrounds him, including Mitscoots socks and MLF's own Street Treats mobile vending carts.
Tonight Ellis will close his own door, sit on his own couch, run water and relax on his own time, and go to sleep for as long as he wants in his own bed, waking up indoors, just like each of us needs and deserves.
Today is why we do what we do, and it is very much worth the effort.

The birth of "mobile" appeared as part of a new art concept
known as kinetic art.
Artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Alexander Calder found ways
to express both space and time enabled by motions.
The frames I've designed are heavily influenced by their works
adding more of a graphical touch.
By applying transparent strings the frames look as if they are floating.
Another feature is the spacial effect made by the shadows.
