But I nearly was, this spot is one of the most dangerous in the world, there are trams, taxis, bikes, people and pigeons coming at you from all directions and it's hard enough to cross the street there without getting killed, let alone doing some wicked reflectin' while holding on to Bikey and Mobie, but yeah, I'm the multitasking kind of guy, hehe ;-))

Never underestimate the importance of a pair of good cans.
A co-worker was recently asking for headphone recommendations. As an owner of the original Beyerdynamic DT-880s, I mentioned the DT-770s which were highly-rated and better-priced (around $179 at time of writing.)
Said co-worker made the purchase and upon listening to them, I was blown away and had to get a pair for myself. The bottom-end on these things is quite incredible, perhaps due to the closed design vs. the DT-880s which seem to be a little more open. Additionally, the 770s also deaden background noise a fair bit - a side-benefit, if you work in a noisy environment.
I was curious about the high (250Ω) impedance, meaning the drivers would require more "oomph" to do their thing, but these headphones sound equally-good on my work laptop, home stereo amplifier and iPhone. Most headphones are rated from 16-32Ω or similar, and don't draw as much power.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the "seal" around your ears is crucial to getting good sound. If you're wearing sunglasses, for example, the bass is effectively cut in half.
In addition to the original DT-880s I still have a pair of AKG 701s at work, which are nice but not as bottom-end-heavy and cut out less noise due to the somewhat-open design.
