collage on found polaroid paper / 2009

I was taking (or trying to take) a picture of two adorable pint sized ballerinas dressed as sugar plum fairies through the window. They were part of a once in a lifetime (I hope) festival in our area called the Festival of Living Streets to celebrate the re-opening of the main street in our town due to major construction and detours to construct a Light Rail System. In the lower part of the photo you can see three white clad legs which are the ballerinas.

The Mistake myspace

Truly a bad sign.

"Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them."

i feel stupid posting this one.... T_T but i just wanted to try some effects. I got the idea for make up from Shamanic Princess, although it's altered a bit. Now to go scrub the nail polish off my face... >_>;;

Making mistakes and failing

There are myriad ways of ruining a shot when working with a view camera, and I have added several to my life list during the intensive shooting spate I've been on recently.

At left, two looks at a light leak (close crop). Same film holder, fortunately. I have earlier shots from the same holder with no leak, but I guess this one is toast now.

In the middle, two examples of overly-aggressive lens shading. Top, a hand-held dark-slide barely clips the corner (this is a close crop, so the shot is still usable). Bottom, a lens hood spans the frame. Worked fine on this lens with minimal movements! Guess I'll need to shell out for a proper compendium hood.

Top right, I think this is a hair that got into the film holder. (Again, close crop). Bottom right, crop from a double exposure.

Some mistakes are just so fun to look at....A world painted in colored hoops! LIke squinting hard and looking around! It looks nice on black, but so do most photos!

The intellect shows the faults of others and by doing so the ego is satisfied. One must see one's own faults or mistakes. Right intellect will see one's own faults and will settle down. Seeing others at fault is the reason to bind bad karmas.

Errare humanum est, perseverare diabolicum

"Mistakes" are unintentional exposures with some simple, arbitrary image processing applied, such as "I'm Feeling Lucky" in Picasa. The results are sometimes nice to look at in their own way.

Tried to take a shot of a church. Still getting used to my new camera.

blurry but i like it.

Didn't mean to download this one. I was keeping it but not to show. Something about it i like but didn't plan on putting it here.

this is what happened to me while tooking the previous shot i uploaded...i realized i was making a mistake so i moved while shooting and this is what came out :D

this shot is non-sense, but all these colors are cheerful and i simply want to share it with my flickr-friends :)

Invested in a new camera, so was figuring out what everything was for. This was an accidental shot....kind of funny!!

Was checking out something on the front when it clicked. That's why there is half a head and a close up of my nose....lol!!!

I had the camera set for self-timed shots and I forgot to reset the camera. When I sat it down on the bench, this is what came out of the camera after it went, "CLICK!"

Nice mistake...

Not the least of which was the one I made when I consumed this fine repast.

Note the glistening pool of liquified chorizo blubber, stage right.

I soaked that up with like thirty-seven paper towels and then shared this with my spud, presumably saving me some tuition pesos down the road, as I expect that he'll still be in a post-chorqueso fetal position by then.

It seemed like a good idea at the time...
