The morning mist turned into the afternoon mist as there was no wind and the sun struggled to break through.

Far from any town, near an old, abandoned research facility, the sound of a door being blown off its hinges breaks the otherwise undisturbed silence.
Out of the dark, musty interior of the building, an orange mist slithers silently into the open. As it exits the building, it begins to coalesce, forming into a concentrated glob, and moving in an unnerving, unnatural manner, almost as if it were sentient, guided by a phantom mind...Having gathered itself into a single, undulating mass, the mist pauses mid-air for a moment, and then, in an instant, bolts off into the distance, headed straight toward the nearest farmstead..
Something has awoken... some thing.

Back at the Cuejdel lake. Haven't been here since October last year. It wasn't the light spectacle from last year, but it's still a gorgeous and surprising location, as usual.
More pictures in the next days :)
Yo voy soñando caminos
de la tarde. ¡Las colinas
doradas, los verdes pinos,
las polvorientas encinas!...
¿Adónde el camino irá?
Yo voy cantando, viajero,
a lo largo del sendero...
la tarde cayendo está
La tarde más se oscurece
y el camino se serpea
y débilmente blanquea,
se enturbia y desaparece.....

Mist lingers and floats, slowly upward, from the falls below and into the tree tops above. Cascade Falls is located in Cascade Falls Regional Park near Mission, BC., British Columbia, Canada.
Fascinating location here at Cuejdel lake. Even if the sun was up for around 2 hours, the mist was still lurking around the water.
And I think that's the last one I'll post from the lake... for now.
I'm usually a bit more selective, but this was such a beautiful day.
Nothing like a little wading with a ton of expensive gear that isn't waterproof... I was a little sad this year to discover that a firework created a fire in the gorge that decimated most of the waterfalls. It will be many years of recovery. Perhaps a lifetime for Oneonta, it was completely full of deadfalls and burned out trees. 4 shots. Focus stacked for foreground rock and left side sharpness. One shot at 8/10ths for the mist that was painted in as well as stilling the moving leaves. Then Another at about 3-4 seconds for the waterfall smoothness (I played for a while with a less smooth look but ended up settling on the smoother) and then a final shot at around 15" for the foreground smooth water and shadow detail, still kind of dark but that feels real to me - high dynamic range is a delicate balance.
