…it would've been rather difficult without you. I miss you, and wish we could be together today to reminisce over the horrors of ejecting me from my home sweet womb.
Well, folks, I used to be little. And, if I am not mistaken, at one point, I seem to have been a charming little boy. In the middle of a fierce game of lasertag. Looks like I won… a return to blue marble. And being female.
Look at my missing tooth! :)

had my headphones on, therefore there was no conversation between us... but he saw that i was walkin' around with a camera and a smile, and that was all he needed :)
These seemingly luminescent teeth were in a jaw bone I found laying in the Cypress needles down by the river. They are presumably from some hoofed creature. I looked around for the missing tooth but could not find it. That remains a lost story within a story.

In the Sapa region there are about 35,000 Black Hmong residing in the surrounding 17 villages and they account for about 50% of the area population. Most reside at an altitude of 1,600 – 1,700 meters above sea level in this stunningly beautiful region they call “the city above the clouds”. The Hmong started migrating to Vietnam from China in the last 300 years.
Noticed that the other day after a stormy night that the gate had lost another "tooth"!

It's been done before, a smile with sprinkles.
But I thought of a little twist...
I told Emma about this idea and all that was left was waiting for that wiggly tooth to fall out :)
Monday morning at 7:15 am I got a phone call from her telling me the tooth was out and we could do the shoot now!

I've been having this horrid pains in my upper abdomen, and I'm taking medication for it. But I was looking for a natural remedy that could help me feel at least a bit better. Then I read that apples actually do help for that if you eat one or half of one during the day and before you go to bed. I didn't believe it at first, but I decided to try it anyways and it's true! It's working for me, I don't have as many discomforts when I do eat an apple before going to bed. I'm still taking my medication but the apple really did make a difference. Just passing the tip along.
This apple is my digestives system's hero!
Have a great weekend, everyone. :)
Rockwell was inspired tor this painting while creating a series of ads for Crest Toothpaste. Anne Morgan, now Anne Morgan Baker, the daughter of one of Rockwell's friends, showed up for her Crest portrait missing her two front teeth, a right of passage for children losing their baby teeth.

He has the body of a child, the mind of a pre-teen, and the spirit of a tiger.

If you ever need a photo of a 'laughing pirate'...here it is. He was as interesting to talk with as he was to photograph.
"One out of our Sunday-school class last Sunday. Was that somebody you? Listen to our pleading: Don't let that happen again! We want every member present every Sunday. A. B. C. No. 25. Copyright, 1912, the Standard Publishing Co., Cincinnati, O."
With an illustration of a kid who looks like a young Alfred E. Neuman, this postcard admonishes its recipient not to be absent from Sunday school. Although its punning statement about "one out" (one kid out of class last Sunday, and one tooth out of young Alfred's mouth) is seemingly humorous, the rest of the message is rather threatening ("Was that somebody you?" and "Don't let that happen again!").

Two Filipino boys swim and play in an irrigation ditch to find relief from the heat and humidity of the day.
Danika lost her sixth tooth. This is her forth in a matter of weeks. She wants more than her two front teeth now!

These are my two big boys. As you can see, they are related. On the right is the older one. On the left is the youngest one. I have had the older one for two years now and I intend to keep it as a spare. I am very happy with the new one. I am just starting to discover its possibilities. I also got it on ebay, but new this time. The new one is even faster, more sensitive and has a lot of nice features that I still need to discover.
Holding them are my nephews, my favorite low cost models. It was the end of Nathan's (right) birthday. He and Gabriel were a bit tired. Nathan said later: "Uncle Jerome, all you ever want to do is take photos". Having me as an uncle can be tough. :-)
Lighting assistant for this shot was Ana.

=============
Taken with my lightweight wireless strobist gear (more on this later):
I used a single 550EX with bouncer cap held by assistant on the right. The 550EX was IR-triggered by an ST-E2 unit mounted on the hotshoe of the Ricoh Caplio GX100. For external flash to work, 1/125 is the shortest exposure time:
Exposure time: 1/125
F-stop: 2.9
ISO speed: 80
550EX was set manually, but I don't remember the setting, unfortunately.
