This is one of the last photo's taken of our beloved Mishka who we had to say goodbye to on 29 March just before her 17th birthday. She had been ill for sometime. In typical cat fashion she decided that the jigsaw was the best place to sit, thejigsaw is still unfinished .

This is my nod to any woman fighting in any military or fighting force around the world, but especially the Peshmerga fighting ISIL/ISIS/DAESH. Much respect to you to fight for your families and loved ones, you are very brave and an inspiration to men and women around the world.

Mishka has found the gate locked, she hears a noise, looks around then disappears over the top. This barrier is easily overcome.

It was at that exact moment that Bailey Bear realized that his new favorite napping spot (which came highly recommended by Mishka) was the ancient secret portal to the dreaded V-E-T!
The family pet long before I was born, was Mishka, a wire-haired terrier. My grandmother was a fan of the old "Thin Man" movie series starring Myrna Loy and William Powell, which I have since come to enjoy as well. In the movies, the couple had a wire-haired terrier, and Ga-Ga went nuts over it, and had to have one! I suppose the same kind of thing happened to the popularity of lots of breeds, like collies, when "Lassie" came out, or St. Bernards when "Beethoven" was showing. Wire-hairs were hugely popular back in the day, and loved for their intelligence and easy care.
Mishka was a character from what my mother told me, and was full of spit and vinegar!
This shot was taken my my grandfather, Lucien Toucas, and my edit is from the original slide. It was pretty good to start with, but had some spots, noise and slight color issues, but was one of the best of Pop's old slides that I've worked on so far. I just loved it!
