Lago Espejo is a lake of glacial tectonic origin located in southern Neuquén Province, Argentina. The lake lies near the town of Villa La Angostura, on the route known as the Road of the Seven Lakes.
Its name refers to the clean and quiet waters, which reflect the landscape like a mirror. The lake is fed by numerous streams bringing snow- and ice-melt from the nearby mountains. The shore of the lake alternates between volcanic sand beaches, juncus, and rock walls.
Among the most common activities in the area are mountain biking, sport fishing, windsurfing, trekking, and BMX riding.
PS. I didn't see the mirror effect, unfortunately, as there was wind and sunlight opposite by the time I got here.

On the long ride to Milford Sound, it's normal for tourist coaches to make a brief stop at Mirror Lakes. No good reflections on the water that day though, so I took pics of the trees and surrounding mountains instead.
After an afternoon storm passed through, I went out for a sunset photowalk at Mirror Lake in the Uinta Range in Utah.
It was too bright and sunny to see the mirror-effect then but we saw a few otters swimming in the lake (one can be seen in the lower right corner).

I started to write a grand speech on how we can and should take care of Mother Earth, but I think all of you know that already. I also think that we are all going to be hyper aware of it's beauty when we leave or den caves in a couple weeks, maybe scenes like this at Mirror Lakes will be that much more sublime. In the meantime, here's to Spring and all the wonderment it heralds.
Beautiful with a dusting of snow on Mt Watkins in the background and a ridge of Half Dome on the right. The elevation here is about 4,000 ft (1250 m); the Half Dome itself is thousands of feet higher, reaching 8844+ ft (2695+ m) in elevation . Nice to see some water in the pool in February.
I hope you have a good week ahead! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all.

Summer has arrived on the lake. From my cell. Apologies for not visiting as have been way busy. Wanted to say thank you for your support. Will have to be off line for some time. Wishing all a great summer or winter.
One of 'em anyway. I just spent a half hour trying to decide which pic to post and finally decided on this broader view because a) it shows just how big the shoulder of Rainier is from it's West facing face and b) I love the photo bombing tree..... :-) All of them have that copse of trees 'blocking the view', so what the heck.

After being mesmerized by the enormous Mirror Lake, my girlfriend had climbed up higher for a better view and ended up finding this beautiful reflection in a hidden pond. It made for a much better image during sunset this night.
